Wins do matter, but 2 in a row don't negate the 7 losses, Winston's issues/turnovers, etc. (just from this year).

Some of the Winston defenders act like that.

Winston's never been the only problem, but to point at our "top offense" as something to be prideful in is ignorant to the overall game of complimentary football. Historically QB's giving the ball up at high rates have bad defenses. Winning the turnover battle may be a bit hyperbolic among coach speak, but it is crucial and important.

Winston always seemingly does well when the season is out of reach and we all go into next year with hope.

I don't know how any intelligent football fan would be accepting of throwing money at Winston after what we've seen to this point.

Fair points overall....

Only thing I disagree with (which is cause for me to question agendas) is an opinion that AT NO PRICE should we keep him.

That's just a ridiculous concept, every team in the NFL would take him at the right price! BeliCheat included.

Apparently PMI can't be imitated either.....

I wish that was the case with you, unfortunately any trailer park in America has about 7 or 8 PetePierson's in them.

Fat, dumb and bitter is no way to go thru life for most of us.

How do you respond this this USC? I'm just curious. I know the black QB haters just want him gone, period.

What say you? It's not about risk/reward, your opinion is get his ASS off the team even if he would play for free?

No, I saw his "progressive" views. But just like the real PMI; get her cornered and she changed the subject. Now it’s about race instead of the same amount of wins as Fro’man (in more games) and the historic amount of turnovers.

Can't be top 10 at everything, but I'm glad you're aware of something more than passing yards for a change since that was your favorite stat to slam the defense with when I mentioned their DVOA earlier in the season.

I said before that I'd be fine to keep him another year, draft lineman, and his replacement.

but I don't want to commit to a long term contract. Not with what I've seen.

'QB wins' are a casual fan stat.

Favre had a historic amount of turnovers also. So did Peyton his first 5 seasons.

Two of the top QBs in NFL history in your favorite stat of 'QB wins'.

Ok, sounds like we aren't that far off.

I don't think he's earned an expensive long term contract either based just on play down the stretch here......

Everyone plays great in their contract year it seems.

I do however think he's earned the right to be considered going forward at the right price.

Everything is about VALUE!

Whether we like it or not a 25 year old QB, who has 5 full seasons of PT on this team holds some value.

Anyone says otherwise you have to question where the root of that opinion comes.

I'm becoming more open to the idea of a team friendly short extension with real competition into camp.......

I doubt he's ever went into a season seriously challenged in his role as a starter.

Casual fans will ALWAYS give too much credit to the QB in wins....

And too much "credit" when we lose.

They tend to focus on 1 guy on the team and follow him closely, grading him out as to their personal view if he is good or not.

And good examples above, fans hated Favre early in his career.....

And in his first 5 years casuals thought Manning would always suck as well.

Hard not to appreciate opinions from all but tough when you've seen this stuff develop differently many times before.

I don't go at it with anyone, I go at it with opinions. I let others get upset, life's too short.

Most others are concerned if they agree or disagree with the right poster, their pal, I focus on WHAT is said, not WHO says it.

Bootz could be an idiot one post, spot on the next. Dread the same.

Yes, Pete is consistently an idiot but if he ever gets one right I'll be right there to congratulate him as well.

It's about the Bucs, not us.

Manning and Favre appeared and won the same amount of SB's as Winston has in their first 5 years.

It's sports, I don't look at skin color. Only the uneducated do things like that.

It's why I think it's laughable when the casuals consider Gruden a better coach than Dungy......

He's not and it ain't close. Been very vocal through the years.

And it's why when we have all 4 minority coaches I have to question if BA is focused on winning football games or being man of the year.

I still like BA but looking over the resume of these hires I have to question what my eyes are telling me.

I could give a **** about race, just want to win boys, that's my one and only agenda (since stealing this user name).

Reminds me of when Chuck got here and wanted Charley Garner over keeping 25 year old Thomas Jones.

Again, I'm very vocal about keeping TJ, he got to play last 4 games that season and was impressive (to people that know the game).

The rest of the board angrily shouting me down, telling me how Chuck knew more football than I'd ever know, Charley was the perfect fit here.

The biggest issue was fumbling, Jones couldn't hold onto the football they said.

So we kept a 179 scat back coming off knee surgery and let go of a 25 year old potential star who showed great promise.

I'll save you from googling, Garner never played another game, got hurt AGAIN, TJ went on for many many productive years.

Point is look at what's coming, not just what's happened.

Not sold yet but Winston is cutting down on hero ball, seen him throw the ball away even on 3rd down where he would almost always try to fit it somewhere.

His deep ball has improved. And regardless of any stat you want to create we have already put up more points than any other Buc team in history.

IMO to be a true Buc fan you have to always keep an open mind and re-examine issues as they develop.

Doesn't mean we definitely keep him at this point but we aren't doing our due diligence if we don't compare his value to his price.

And yes there is certainly value there to some degree.

I don't look down on people/posters who can transition from one opinion to the next, I respect them. They are usually winners in life.

The others?

The best thing about getting old, fat and dumb - you already know what you'll be thinking tomorrow!!

We kindly move on.

BTW we're 5-7 in our first year with BA and very very very easily could be 7-5, right in the hunt for a playoff spot.

If the team isn't making you see a profound change this year compared to the past you probably should take up a new hobby.

All things fluid to the better minds of the world.

Speaking of that GF is calling, time for my swim. :)

for a guy who claims to “give a **** about race”, you sure are bringing it up quite a bit. i’ve never read anything from pete that implies racism on his part and you’re a pathetic human being for going there, especially without evidence. it’s not surprising how you think you can arbitrarily accuse others of racism, while simultaneously making racist/sexist statements yourself. douche bags like you are exactly what’s wrong with this country.

playing the race card is weak, old man. surrender noted. time for you to find a geriatric race baiting forum and get the **** off this board.
