Line is at -10.5 pts favorites for the Pats.

Colts have tons of injuries, Luck played great last week to win the game (Except for that 4th down play), but I don't think they have a chance against a revamped Pats offense, Edelman and Gronk are active along with Josh Gordon.

I think the Pats put up 30+ pts tonight and win easily.

They just said that 6 QBs are on pace to break 5k yards. That's insane. Thats the direction the league wants to go.

Brady is offering nudes of his wife to the defense just so they beat the brains out of Indy.

Richard Sherman concurs

"You can't touch him. You can't tackle him. You can't hit him high, can't hit him low. You can't knock him down to the ground hard ... all that. You can't hit a receiver too high, you can't hit him low, you can't push him. You can barely press him. It's making it really difficult on teams to combat it because every rule in the book is designed to make sure you don't get them stopped."

I read that when Joe Montana retired, he was the NFL's all time leader in Quarterback Rating.

That QB rating - I think it was like 94.1 - would be exactly league average now.

And to be fair to Brady, he was pretty great before the rules got insanely skewed towards the passing game. But a lot of the more recent guys who are pretty good would have burned out in the 90's-00's.

Well done.

It's a funny thing with gamblers, they will lay 10 points all day long.....

Make it 10- (10.5) and they stay away in droves, LOL.

No doubt the NFL wants 38-37 games before they have 13-3 games. I prefer the latter.

Problem is most fans need scoring to enjoy the game.

In fact most major sports I can think of have been implementing rules conducive to more scoring in recent years.

And on the flipside, a lot of average players would have been beasts now. Jim Everett would have been a Hall of Famer for sure. Stan Humphries, Jeff Hostetler, Jeff Blake, Chris Chandler...lots of other guys I could think of...forgotten now, but they would have been elite under these rules.

Yeah it absolutely goes both ways. Hell, even Dilfer might have been good if he couldn't be hit!

If any of you have ever wondered what "taking it too far" means: this is it.

Lol true.

I have this image in my head of Farve after the NFCCG, he was beat up, just went through a battle, and would have won if not for his Farve-being-Farve moment.

That type of battle image will never occur again

I predict that within the next ten years we're going to see new rules. Sacks will now be "in the grasp" the way they are in practice. Hitting the quarterback in any but the most incedental fashion will be treated the same way hitting the kicker or punter is treated - instant penalty. And we're going to see 7,000 yard passing seasons and running backs leading the league with 800 yard seasons. It's going to be the Arena League.

It's been sliding this way for years, and I don't anticipate it changing its trajectory anytime soon.
