I dig my beard. Favorite part of my face.

I love my beard when it grows in. I look good with two-three days of stubble. After that, I have to go all in or start over. I've got this weird whorl at the corner of my jaw on one side of my face, so a short beard isn't an option. I have to go for the the three inch + length or nothing. Kind of sucks.

Under the chin portion of my beard grows left to right.

Keep brushing.

I keep a Riker beard at a beard trimmer length of 4 and it looks pretty darn good with a fresh haircut.

Nooooooooooooo!

You gotta grow it back. You're getting older and the greys will give you social status. Eventually the kids will be saying "Look, bro. Gandalf is teaching this class!"

And you can save money on Halloween by going as a lumberjack every year. Only costs a plaid flannel shirt!

I teach a freshman course and believe me when I say this... most of our traditional students have no clue who Gandalf is. Man...we're gettin old.

Big day in the Zarni household. I'm 46 years old, have a nice job....and I just bought my first wireless speaker.

Next thing you know we will have appliances you can control with your phone!

We already have several of those strategically placed throughout your house.

And for some reason in the ladies' changing room at Dillard's. Personally I have yet to see a report of you going in there, but Mountaineer insisted on it being worked into the budget.

it does beg a bigger point....now that my little one is growing up, i am going to have to get more tech savvy quickly.

I wouldn't call myself a techno-phobe...but for some reason anything tech just gives me dead brain...I simply have no interest in it....unless of course it's tech for a mechanical thing -- for example, I'll about keeping up with the new tech that allows direct injection into two stroke engines...but i have zero interest in any tech for entertainment or convenience around the home.

Going super old school tonight and making oven baked drumsticks. It’s the first thing I ever cooked myself, recipe was from some kid cookbook if I remember. Sautéed asparagus and some garlic mash to round it out. Enchiladas tomorrow, raspberry lemonade roast chicken with pilaf Saturday, and either steak and shrimp or a low country boil on Sunday. Haven’t decided quite yet.

It's an ordinary trip (in his Forrest Gump voice)

The "playing with my wood" line may have worked better had you not just referred to them as "dying trees."

Now you're just going to get age cracks and references to how they make a pill for that.
