They're not playing as bad as I thought they would. They have potential for 70 wins this year. Attendance, however, is horrible (not that I can blame fans for being mad at ownership). 10,000 for a Friday and Saturday night? Pressure will be on Ybor to finalize something soon or else Stu will likely take this team out of Tampa. It can't stay in St. Pete.

There shouldn't be more than 12 fans in the seats for this tank job.

Can anyone tell me why we got rid of Corey Dickerson? I couldn't find any articles for some reason.

Maybe just the payroll. On the standings they're almost .500 lol that they STILL can even manage to **** up a desperately needed rebuild.

I didn't want to see us lose 100 games but understood why it needed to happen

https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/02/ ... erson.html

As always with the Rays, financial elements played a key role. It was widely expected that the Rays were going to cut payroll this winter, with Dickerson and the team’s other priciest arbitration-eligible players standing out as the likeliest candidates to be traded. (Not to mention the Rays moving their biggest contract in Evan Longoria.) Dickerson is slated to earn $5.95MM in 2018 after avoiding arbitration with the team, while Cron is set to earn $2.3MM in 2018 and has two more arb-eligible years before reaching free agency after the 2020 season.

Of course I mean the payroll. You think they are telling players to lose intentionally?

I think they understood what would happen. The remark I made was directed more towards that the Rays are out-performing expectations. I'm happy for them but I got tired of hoping we could even go .500 about 3 years ago. I just want to see an actual, long term plan to get better instead of throwing **** against the wall every offseason and hoping it sticks like a Moneyball sequel. What we saw was not the beginning of a rebuild, it was to make sure the Rays don't suck so bad that Tampa refuses to build a ballpark and says "Well they suck so who cares if we lose them anyway?" I don't think it will come to that. If it means we win 58 games instead of 76 then by God it won't make a difference to me. The Rays are like the case of the guy who starts with a stick of gum and trades it and then spends years trading up until he has the newest, coolest sports car or house. The sad case here is that the Rays will never ever do that. The only way the Rays will ever get their hands on a David Price again is if they pick him 1st overall. At the rate we're going we just better hope and pray to not screw up the 14th pick and hope we draft a Joyce or Hellickson in the later rounds.

We called up Christian Arroyo. He was that "Top" prospect we got in the Longoria trade.

Damn, you weren't lying MJW, Royals are truly all in on the suckage train this year.

Somehow we're close to average(19-22). For as much as Cash and our staff get ****, we are playing better than most thought we would. Probably not going to be the worst team in the league like some predicted...

Just got to keep our head above water this year...next season is when most of our top prospects(like McKay, Sanchez, Bauers, and Whitley) should start reaching the majors. Hell, our prized prospect, Willy Adams(Seems like so long ago that we traded for this kid in the David Price blockbuster), should reach the majors sometime this year.
