Waited too long for Oline and DT. It's like you don't care about winning at the LOS.

Oh well, we can always spend more in FA on linemen.

This is actually a good realistic draft. No reaches and a lot of good talent day 3 that could develop. Shepherd is a guy to keep eyes on. He likely doesn't make it to Day 3 but if he does he represents good value.

Hoping Josh Jackson would make it to 38 is a big one.

I like those first 3 picks for sure, but the end of the draft is a waste- you have to keep in mind how a 53 is going to be constructed. After taking Davenport we maybe have 1 roster spot on the DL if that.

If you think it's a waste you truly have no clue about football. None. Even less than we already know you don't understand. If a guy proves himself you make room. Simple as that. Any GM stupid enough to have your stance doesn't deserve their job.

No GM in the league is going to waste draft picks on guys who have no shot at making the roster.

We aren't drafting 4 DL, I'll give you a million dollars if we do.

Why do they have no shot at making the roster?

Generally only 8 DL make the 53.

DE
JPP
Curry
Gholston
Spence
Davenport

DT
McCoy
Allen
Unrein
Shepherd
Tui

Those last 2 picks would be the 11th and 12th guys.

A typical 53 man roster for a 4-3 team carries eight or nine defensive linemen at any given time.

JPP, Vinny Curry, Gerald McCoy, and Beau Allen are mortal locks to make the 53 man roster. Mitch Unrein, Will Gholston, and Noah Spence are also highly likely to make the team, probably greater than 90%. That's seven dudes. Stevie is on the bubble, and that makes eight players.

Your four draftees would be fighting for one or two spots. In essence, get ready to cut two of them. Maybe three. Basically, Davenport would make the team, and those other three guys would fight Stevie for the backup nosetackle job.

Bravo. Ya fucked up.

Cheb we could only be so lucky to get these guys, it would be a good problem to have. If they had to they could hamstring the two piss poorest just like Stevie last year.

Really RBF?

144 Trenton Thompson DT

180 -Toth is an athletic developmental OT who has great length and physicality, but needs to work and develop his frame and technique. He can redshirt a year, and perhaps replace Dotson in a couple of years.

Pick 202
Some Dude

Pick 255
Some Guy

Drafts a crapshoot, but Id go CB ( Alexander), OL ( Wynn/Hernandez), or even CB again ( Hughes) and then Michel/Ronald Jones at 38.

Sure it is.

COMPLETELY realistic to project the Bucs to make not one but TWO, first round trades. Especially when Licht has ZERO history of doing such things.

You clowns are hilarious.

The only surprising thing is that MDB or whoever he is, doesn't have us trading up for multiple top 10 picks.

Just because Licht hasn't done it much is no proof that he has some religious aversion to trading in the first round. This will be his 4th draft IIRC, it's likely that he just hasn't gotten an offer he couldn't refuse. After all, the only time he's had a pick worth a bounty was that #1 overall, and he wasn't going to pass on Jameis. He likely didnt get enough action to pass on Evan's or Howard either.

If Buffalo offers a package with both firsts in it, every GM in the league would be hard pressed to turn that down.

Its funny to have RBF and Cheb bash the mock and call it a waste when they couldnt even finish out their own mocks.

To get Shepherd we would probably have to disregard Jackson in the 2nd and move down and pick him in the 2nd.

Why would I want to draft so many defensive linemen? Because other than JPP, everyone else we added looks like rotational depth to me, that doesnt offer much in going after the quarterback. I dont see that as a future for us. Everyone's happy with the direction Licht seems to be taking us in the draft right now, lets see how they act once the season starts.

This would be a dream draft not a waste.

The Bucs have traditionally carried 9-10 Dlinemen on the 53 and 2-3 more on the practice squad. 8 Dlinemen dress as part of the active gameday 46, very very rarely do we see all 9 get a helmet on gameday.

I agree that 7 Dline spots are pretty much tied up where it would take a freakishly good camp/preseason from an unknown Dlinemen to unseat them.

That leaves 2-3 open spots on the 53 man roster for whatever Dlinemen we draft + the likes of Ryan Russell, Will Clarke, StevieT, Channing Ward, etc. Practice squad eligibility will determine who gets those spots. But any player we put on the PS must first clear waivers then would still be able to get signed to another teams active 53 once on the Bucs PS.

All depends on how board falls, but I'd be surprised if the Bucs drafted more than two Dlinemen in this draft, and that is at most.
