Rays enter the All-Star break at 47-43. Doubt many saw that

I sure didn't. We need to make a move for a middle inning guy or an end of rotation starter. With some more pitching depth we could push to make a run. This offense is legit. They've done it consistently all season.

I definitely didn't. I figured this year would be just like last year.

I'm with Teitan, we really need to address the bullpen if we have any hopes of making the playoffs.

Hopefully Wilson Ramos will really light it up in the second half now that he's got a few games under his belt coming off the DL. That will be an added boost offensively if Dickerson, Souza and Morrison can keep it up.

I knew it was possible but I just didn't think they would have a record like this. Personally I am just concerned with stocking the farm. We can float around .500 all we want but it's the best we're gonna get until we find prospects who will make an actual difference. This team ain't getting another Longoria until they draft one or make a trade for a prospect that develops into one

Bummed Dickerson isn't in the derby.

Guess I should just be grateful he's an all-star.

He's batting 7th. I hope he gets more than just ONE at-bat.

And Archer won't pitch since he just pitched Sunday.

I mentioned a while back...this smells like a .500 team. It still does...and a barely above .500 record does nothing to change that opinion.

Granted...it's an exciting .500 team...but nothing more or less. It's nice to see some offense in this franchise (for once in my lifetime)...but the deficiencies (our horrid bullpen) are too much to overcome on our budget, to make us much more than what we are now.

Who knows? MAYBE Boxenberry (If you're a local, you get the joke) becomes the dominant set-up guy we need. MAYBE our closer gets out of his funk. MAYBE. MAYBE. MAYBE.

No doubt...this team is very deep offensively. More so than any Rays team...MAYBE ever. It doesn't help that they play in the deepest division in MLB.

Fauria has been a savior. Snell...is a sunk cost for this year. It'll be interesting if we call up Honeywell when the rosters expand...if we're still in the hunt.

The pitching is gonna cost us this year...and that's something I never thought I'd say.

That said...Cobb is BACK! Dude is a ****ing monster!

Yeah Cobb is pitching the way he was before surgery. Pitched a gem the other night. I hope we don't trade him.

Was just coming to post this. That ****ing sucks. He was doing well at the plate and gave us some solid depth in The OF.

At least this year, we actually have some quality depth. Hope the kid is ok (this sounds like a non-baseball issue, type of thing) but this won't sink the Rays season.

Reports say if we are still in a playoff hunt, we won't. So I hope not. We need to go GET pitching.

Cobb is a beast. He's back to being in that "he's our ace" form that he was before the surgery.

Apparently we've shown a lot of interest in Giants P Hunter Strickland. Not just a passing interest either as we had representatives at the Giants games this weekend to scout him out.

He would help

Hi, Buccaneer fans! :) Our Rays are still in the hunt for the after the All-Star Break and the split yesterday between the Red Sox and Yankees. If the Rays defeat the A's at Oakland tonight, it would be their 50th win of the season after 94 games. 8-)

Would be nice if the Rays overtake both those teams the rest of the second half and win the AL East Division title! ;) :D

How many Plinkos are there? Is Plinkos correct? Is Plinko like deer, where the plural is Plinko. Or like octopus where it would be Plinki?

Plinki sounds right.

Not to make this thread about the Plinki, but I never thought this boards Plinko was the real Plinko. Something off about the posts, like a decent imitation. Maybe this is Original Plinko come to reclaim his place?

I think it's official that Snell is a disaster. He's WAAAYYYYY too good to play in Durham yet it's been months of him making the same mistakes over again.

I can't believe I'm saying this but he has been all over the place so often that I'm not sure if moving him to the bullpen would actually be worse than letting this continue.

Either **** or get off the pot

Seems like we don't know how to close out series this year. We'll take the first 2 games, but get dominated in the 3rd.

If we want to make a run at the division and even wild card, we have to close out series like vs. the Angels and A's. Yeah, it's great to win 2 of 3. But when you have a good chance to sweep a series against lesser opponents, that's what championship teams do.

As great as the last couple weeks have been, we're one bad week away from being one of 5-6 teams hovering around .500 fighting for a wild card spot. It would be nice to learn how to go for the throat and finish teams off so we can put some distance between ourselves and the Yankees....heck, even the Red Sox. Nothing would be better than winning the division this year when NO ONE expected it.

I've been very happy watching games the last few nights. The team is really fun to watch, and we still don't have KK out there in center.
