It's worth a chuckle, but is every bit a non-issue as Obama's lack of a lapel pin.

Agreed, but we also see multiple clips/gifs/memes like this from every POTUS the past 10-15 years with the social media boom. There are countless ones from GWB not saluting, or Obama doing so w/ his left hand, etc. Looks like he got caught day dreaming here though. Good job FLOTUS!!

I can't believe people bought that photoshop. Sure they got the rings and the coat buttons, but they forgot the badges on the military uniforms in the background. Amateurs...

Agree. Really surprises me how much conservatives get worked up about stuff like this. And of course there are the liberals that only get worked up about it because it's Trump.

Can you believe that like 25% of American's voted for Donald Trump and thought he actually gave a **** about them? People are gullible enough to believe anything these days.

Trump should just lie like he always does and say he built the damn wall. His supporters will believe him and the rest of us will save billions of dollars.

"So I heard about this, I wanted to do this myself," Trump said as he placed the Purple Heart on the soldier's lapel. "Congratulations on behalf of Melania and myself and the entire nation. Tremendous, tremendous job, congratulations."

Serious question: Does Trump actually know what a purple heart is for?

I think the President meant that he wanted to give the award himself. That's what I got from that quote.

Plenty of things to be critical about, let's not make anything up.

If it was me, I would say something along the lines of "Your country thanks you for your sacrifice. But I guess I'm just not as in tune with the vets as DON is.

He's got one, actually.

Picked it up on the campaign trail.

Trump, who received five deferments from the Vietnam War, also has a Purple Heart. Except his was given to him by a Virginia resident and Trump supporter during the presidential campaign. That was when Trump famously said, "I always wanted to get the Purple Heart—this was much easier."

I don't understand how so many of our people appear to remain attached to a political class they know is corrupt, a swollen bureaucratic federal government they know is self serving, and a corporate media they know lies to them.

The deficit has gone down over 100 billion, the job market in career type industries is up over projections, illegal immigration has slowed (at worst appraisal), a pretty straight forward constitutionalist judge has been appointed to the Supreme Court, wasteful budgets are being cut in almost every department, and so far we are managing international crisis without conventional boots on the ground intervention (or daily carpet bombing). As someone who voted for Trump, I remain quite pleased. Honestly tickled in the face of the opposition.

Anyone who believes any Russian collusion (whatever games you believe the Russians up to) narrative is bonkers. If you don't understand the real story is the use of governmental assets to monitor his campaign (outside contact with any foreign agent), I don't know what to tell you. No one in my military family questions his support of our armed services. The men who served are his strongest supporters amongst us (maybe aside from me).

No, I can not. My interpretation of much of what we are experiencing since his election and inauguration is the violent reaction of those entities to his election.

I think what happens is more important (and honestly have given up trying to interpret what politicians "really" care about, it seems to be primarily money and power in every case), and so far I much prefer our current direction in just about every area that was important to my vote. I didn't expect the progress to be easy.

So if I understand you correctly, you wish to see the "employer class" benefit from public policy as much as possible so that you might also benefit when they decide to do business. You would like to see as much money and authority wrested away from the Federal government to enable this to happen.

Correct?

My opinion is publicly policy in general should be limited to what is essential (which I don't pretend to know all the specifics of) and funded with the smallest possible budget/personnel to accomplish the important tasks. Defunding and stripping authority from the Federal Government does encompass a good portion of my personal political agenda, but there are areas (like border/immigration control, voter ID) where I am looking for greater federal intervention.

I don't understand your question. Sorry, not trying to be evasive. We have civil and criminal legal systems. I'm guessing one, or both, "should" be involved?
