So anyone got any more examples? Beto publically denounced the harassment or Cruz (which he should) and even said Cruz deserved respect (eeehhh, but I get it).

So you've got 3. One I mentioned in the post you quoted, and one from another country. I can see why this epidemic required a new thread.

While that happening is doubtful, I will remain hopeful.

HA! This thread made it exactly zero comments before someone turned it into R vs D. Welcome to the political forum!

In the past 10 years, both parties have had congressional representatives gunned down. This shouldn’t be a partisan issue. There are crazy people out there. Those people can easily convince themselves to harm people they disagree with.

Donald Trump is wrong. Maxine Waters is wrong. Anyone who feels like it’s more important to ascribe blame to a political party for this kind of stuff rather than addressing the individual cases of unacceptable speech by elected officials is wrong.

As the national debate over violent rhetoric rages among politicians, pundits and President Trump, the Republican candidate for governor in Pennsylvania offered the latest case study in partisan rancor on Friday when he threatened to “stomp all over” the Democratic incumbent’s face with his golf spikes.

I'm not too sure this guy realizes golf went to soft spikes like 20 years ago

By definition, supporters of the party that ISN'T in power are going to complain more and act out more.

It seems like a no-brainer to accept. Yet some people still have a hard time with it.

Likewise, as I have mentioned many times, every president in my adult lifetime has been treated worse then the one before...it isn't a party thing...it's a fact. Obama was treated and talked about worse than Bush II. Bush II was treated worse than Clinton. Clinton was treated worse than Bush I. And Trump is treated worst of all.

Same goes with idiocy from the populace...it grows worse with every new administration and will likely continue in that manner.

And same goes with the violent rhetoric and actions...it is getting worse...it will continue to in all likelihood. If the Dems get control of Presidency, Senate and House, it will come from R's. When it was mentioned, it used to be condemned by all officials, regardless of party. Now we have officials from both parties supporting harassment and failing to denounce it.

I invite ridicule of my position :P

With Obama it was mainly rhetoric. We had some random stuff here and there but nothing too bad.

Now it seems like attempted intimidation is in vogue.

Far-left activists associated with Antifa and other radical hate groups attacked the Republican Party headquarters in New York City late Thursday evening; vandalizing the historic building and warning the incident was “merely the beginning.”

The New York GOP released shocking images immediately following the assault; writing “The New York Republican New York City headquarters at the Metropolitan Republican Club was physically vandalized last evening with broken windows, spray-paint and more.”

I'm more than OK with noticing what is working well in other countries and considering to adopt those things here.

I'm completely against signing any treaty that gives away our national sovereignty (whether it be economic, environmental or even militarily).
