Lol do I really have to spend it out for you guys?

Politicians who are members of the Libertarian party tend to be whackos. Just like the Green Party nutters.

I didn't say anything about libertarianism or libertarians in general.

And Brazen, I'm not a socialist you dumb sack of ****.

P.S. I voted for a Libertarian presidential candidate in 2008.

I have zero issue with Outsider’s generalization. I do think the fringe parties will have more whackos then the main two parties.

It's an unfortunate side effect to our current 2 major party system. As a potential 3rd party you either put up a more centrist candidate that, while more in line with the majority of Americans, tends to bore voters or you pick someone that will turn heads by being a comically extreme caricature of your party to at least get you noticed.

In either case, the third party always loses because the 2 major parties just have to simply ignore them and the voters will follow suit.

Really?

Maybe I'm parsing labels (Democratic Socialist vs Socialist) here but I assumed you were onboard with the DSA and that platform based the ideas and politicians you've supported the past 18 months or so.

DNC chair Tom Perez recently stated that Ocasio-Cortez and her platform is the "future of the Democratic Party". I assume you'd be hopeful that is the case, no?

Talk about being lost in the wilderness. Went from a right-wing conservative to socialist in less than a decade. ::lowwhistle::
That's like the difference going from the light side to the dark side of the moon. :D

Really.

I'm ever increasingly unsurprised by this because conservatives seem to not grasp that there is diversity of opinion on the left.

In their defense, we do a poor job of marketing the diversity of our opinions.

At this point I'll vote for a ***damn can of tuna fish over Trump just so we can get a new institution of economic policy. Want some real capitalism? Put an extra $1000 per month in the hands of every American stipulation free and watch the dollars fly like it's Christmas. Meanwhile its been a century of business tax cuts and bailouts and all we have to show for it is a false positive unemployment rate and an underemployment rate that's easily above 20%.

You are so heartless...why only $1,000 / month? Why not $10,000/month to everyone...then the money will really fly like it's Christmas...we even have a logistics delivery system for distributing all that cash in place!

LOL.

I gave it the amount of thought it deserves. We have discussed UBI ad naseum on the board.....NONE of you have ever said where the money comes from. $10,000 a year for everyone means nearly $4T a year. Where does that come from? Once someone posts that information, I'll be happy to discuss it more.

And the 20% number is stupid beyond belief -- we've went over this the last time it came up and someone said it was 30%. 20% would put our labor participation rate at 85%. Unless you want to force every single retired person back to work, that number is impossible....again it implies that there are approx 30 million people that are unemployed. That isn't my opinion. It's a FACT. I'm not taking anything to the extreme.

The argument they make can satisfy me where the money comes from....doesn't mean I'll agree with implementing it though.

Just like I can give you an argument why we should have a 15% flat tax and what I would cut in order to balance the budget to make it happen given that gov't revenue level....doesn't mean you'll agree with it...but at least the numbers will be there.

Until I see the #'s I'll continue to ridicule the UBI when it comes up.

Your problem is really with the Constitution, isn’t it? That damned document keeps us mired in the status quo and prevents us from marching towards progress.
