It's all about supply. We are incredibly friendly about building in DFW.

My biggest issue is how we are funding our infrastructure here...but that's another story

I’m part of a group looking to address housing affordability in Dallas. This group includes State Reps and several councilmen. Dallas is absolutely facing a housing affordability crisis since companies relocated here.

it depends what part you are looking at....most of the metroplex is incredibly affordable compared to other major cities...there are certainly pockets that have limited space available for new projects and great public schools were housing is rising...but they appear to be the exception...I live in one of those areas.

Not to mention every suburb is continuing to build and our supply is dramatically increasing.

The list of companies raising their wages or giving bonuses continues to grow.

Let's hope it continues into the future and isn't a one off.

I'm sure Home Depot plans to shutter some of their stores to pay for this.

Trump is considering a tax plan that would essentially allow capital gains to be indexed to inflation. So if inflation is 2% in a year, your first 2% gains are tax free

I don’t like this idea ... indeed I hate our structure of capital gains to begin with

So no capital gains tax is your aim?

Zarni is on record as saying capital gains should be taxed at the same rate as any other income. I agree.

Govt shouldn’t pick and choose and privilege some income over others

This proposal is particularly absurd....do we get to make inflation adjustments to our annual raises?

(And if the govt has to privilege one over the other, they should privilege labor, not capital...we all have labor, not everyone had excess capital....so every labor rate should be lower than the capital gains)

Given that I'm on the Abolish-the-IRS bandwagon, agreed.

Capital gains should be taxed the same as regular income is now. Earn more, tax more.

It’s a crying shame that our tax code has been bastardized by both sides giving their pet projects loopholes.

I’d be for a simple tax code ... no deductions. You can do your taxes in 2 mins. Enter taxable income. Multiply it by a standard rate. That’s your tax obligation.

Ya know ... there was a time when there was no income tax ... And in fact, it was never ratified so it's essentially an illegal confiscation ATM.

If we're going for it, let's do it right.
