Anyone interested in private flight might like this story....

Private pilots have to log 3 takeoffs and landings every 90 days to maintain their license. Right now it is legal for them to post signs on old-fashioned analog billboards looking for a ride sharer...basically someone who needs a lift to a local airport and will partially pay for the expenses of the flight. The money the pilot made on the flight could help pay what is an average of $225/hr of flight time. The pilots never made a profit, they just found someone to help split costs.

After Uber came along, a couple apps were created to bring the old fashioned billboard posting into the modern age. In 2014 the FAA ruled that any private pilot that uses an electronic app to post would have to meet the commercial airline regulations. Obviously the private pilots weren't able to do that. In the ruling, the FAA still said it was legal to make posts on the old fashioned billboards.

Mike Lee, R-Utah, just sponsored a bill that would allow the use of these apps. The bill still makes it illegal for private pilots to make profits off their flights...but would allow them to find passengers who would share the costs.

For the life of me, I simply can't understand the FAA ruling...that its OK to provide the service if you post a note on a billboard, but not if you post a message to an app. Am I missing something?

It’s a damn shame Paul didn’t stay true to his ideas when he ran for president. He caved time and time again to win votes.

Hope he runs again on his real platform

I agree completely.

Unfortunately, that ship has sailed.

He bitched out in front of God and everyone.

He didn't stay true to his "ideals" and anything from that point forward is only going to seem disingenuous.

He's "just another politician". Selling his "beliefs" for votes.

Damn shame.

Does anyone know what’s up with this DNC lawsuit? I guess they are suing the Trump Campaign, Wikileaks and Russia. How do you sue a country?

Is there any way a lawsuit like this can actually claim damages and get reparations or is this strictly a fundraising effort?

Yes but what is the upside for the DNC? I really can’t figure out how this helps them. I’m biased but I think this makes them look like a bunch of whining *******.

So they are suing Russia for depriving them of the White House, maybe some pain and suffering, emotional damage as well? How do you determine what the remuneration must be and collect? I just watched Tom Perez, DNC chair, talk about this and he had on a straight face the whole time.

The DNC won a similar lawsuit against Nixon, so I'll wait to see how this plays out before judging it.

They had evidence of actual crimes in that case. So maybe that means Mueller has tipped off the DNC that he has the goods?

His recommendation and intel caused the SDNY US District Attorney to have the FBI raid Cohen's **** and he's already pulled multiple indictments in this case already so it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility.

So you’re saying that the DNC lawsuit could be proof that the DNC and the Mueller investigation are in collusion together?

How many times must you be reminded that Robert Meuller is a Republican who was appointed by a Republican?

What does that have to do anything? It was mentioned that the DNC lawsuit may be a result of Mueller telling the DNC that he had the goods on Trump. If that’s true, that sounds like an Independent Counsel colluding with a political party.

I of course don’t think this is true at all.

Two different situations can have similarities without being exactly the same. Context and nuance are important in discussion.

You have to understand NYBF is the Bootz of the political board when it comes to semantics. Precise language and exact comparisons only matter when he wants them to

Color me shocked on this one....

Finland is scrapping its trial UBI system

Who would have thought...simply giving people money for being born wouldn't be a solution?

It was a two year project and is ending as scheduled. Time to examine the data.

Maybe that is the case, if it is please link it...but according to the article:

The initial plan was for the experiment to expand in early 2018 to include workers as well as people who are not working, but that did not happen,
