Anyone have certain commercials that just annoy the crap out of them?

If you've seen it, there's a Toyota commercial that is clearly trying to demonstrate automatic brakes. It starts on a winding road with a beautiful rendition of Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World" playing in the background. You see a kid in the backseat of the Toyota, looking up through the moonroof at the sky. They are behind an RV. The RV comes to a sudden stop because of deer crossing and the Toyota's automatic brakes kick in.

What annoys me is that clearly, the guy driving the vehicle is either not paying attention or just tailgating the RV, triggering the automatic brakes. After the brief pause, the mother looks back, sees the child is alright and smiles at the child and the guy. Then the guy pulls off ahead of the RV and accelerates again, as fast as he can go.

I love Toyota. I own a Prius and cannot recommend it enough. But this commercial is dumb as hell. Guy almost kills his family, and continues driving like an idiot.

Might also be a Toyota commercial where they're talking about the stupid blind spot warning system. Driver signals to change lanes, checks mirror. Is clear at first, but then the light comes on indicating the driver in the next lane is in the blind spot. "I see you," he says and cuts the guy off.

A lot of these innovations are great and will make driving safer. But the drivers in all these commercials are ****ing off and not driving when they show them.

LA PUENTE, Calif. - California authorities got a helping hand -- or shove, rather -- from a fed-up 83-year-old grandfather who ended an hours long standoff with a suspected burglar by climbing a ladder and pushing him off his roof.

Police had trapped the alleged thief on Wilford Burgess’ rooftop in a neighborhood in La Puente and were trying to convince the suspect to come down, according to KABC-TV.

After hours of crisis negotiations with the suspected burglar went nowhere, Burgess became angry and decided to take matters into his own hands.

He went to his neighbor’s home, determined to get the suspected crook off his house, and borrowed a ladder.

Burgess told deputies at the scene he would handle the matter.

“I said … ‘I’m going up on the roof. That sucker’s coming off,’” he told KABC.

And that’s what he did. He went up on the roof and knocked the suspected burglar off, effectively ending the standoff.

Walked by the most random conversation today. Wish I had more of it.

"He's a good character, but I want to punch Chief O'Brien in the face."

I agree. Ever since he married Keiko, he become so whipped that it's impossible not to want to punch him in the face. His wife should have been shot out of an airlock without a bio-suit.

I remember when he was transitioned to Deep Space Nine, they have a scene with Picard wishing him goodbye in the transporter room, saying, "If I remember, this was your favorite transporter room". Total WTF reach for giving the character some kind of gravity he never had on TNG. I winced watching it.

On the road for work. SE Florida. Have to overnight in a hotel while I wait for parts to ship. Step outside for a smoke at 11:30. Witness the worlds worst drug deal. Lady involved has a young’un; who’s crying just outside the lobby during the whole exchange.

WWYD?

Nothing funny about watching a deadbeat parent leave a child in need of comfort in order to get high.

Please, go on.

There was a link there for a second about a French fitness model getting killed by an exploding can of whipped cream. It's gone now. But what?!?!
