Sweet Child O' Mine

I think this song that introduced most of us to Gn'R is great. But if you listen to Slash carefully You can hear his influences plainly. It's like an homage to his favorite players.

1:15- This is an Eagles bit. Total Joe Walsh.

2:31- Joe Perry, Big time. The song almost completely shifts to a late 70's Aerosmith tune for 30 seconds.

3:00- Slash goes into Lynrd Skynrd mode. It damn near sounds like the end to Free Bird.

Hear it?

Classic song!

I definitely hear the Skynard at the end and some Aerosmith flavor where you said....Not hearing the Eagles though

I think of that part of SCOM as a louder version of how Joe Walsh ties the chorus to the next verse in Lyin' Eyes. Simple and melodic. But you could just as easily attribute it to the Aerosmith and Skynrd influences.

Joe Perry does something similar, but a little more complex in Dream On

and Skynrd does it for the first 4 minutes of Free Bird before they go bananas.

Heh - I remember when that album came out and there was the t-shirt with the girl with her boobages out and her panties around her ankles, with the "Guns-N-Roses was here" line on it. It actually got banned in my high school so that none of us could wear it.

They didn't let you wear your panties that said "Guns-N-Roses was here"?

You know you're on your way as a band when you get booked to exotic venues like Bonner Springs, KS.

Let's settle this once and for all.....

You can jump across a crick.

You can wade across a creek.

You can put a boat (at least a canoe) on a river. Got it?

You can drive through a puddle.

You can walk around a pond. (within reason)

You can water ski on a lake.

This means the "lake" in the middle of your apartment complex is actually a pond.

So I was just checking on the new posts in here, and scrolled back up to this again. Assuming it's not doctored, look at the rotational speed she generates with that kick. Height and accuracy aside, that's Bruce Lee quality.
