Why is it that when you pre-pay for gas, it pumps regular, but then that last 50 cents takes about an hour?

Why would you prepay for gas?

There are places you don't pre-pay self serve?

he's referring to going inside and saying "$10 on pump 5 please".. instead of just paying at the pump.

Not really. In WV there is a chain of gas stations that let you select "pay inside" as in pump your gas and then come in and pay for it. Locations with a large amount of drive offs don't have this feature, but most do. I went out of my way to fill up there because I'm just OCD enough to want to know my tank is FULL.

That and they had good coffee.

You are correct.

I pay with a debit card. The pump doesn't slow down unless I make it slow down, or it clicks off because the tank is full.
By prepay, I assumed he meant he paid a set amount up front, before pumping. $10. $20. Whatever.

That makes more sense.

My guess is as a lawyer, Kress has multiple briefcases of cash he has to launder.

I'm going to guess Kress is older than you because Credit/debit cards have largely eliminated it, but as someone said before, you would normally prepay "$10 on pump 5", and it would crawl at the end becaue the stations didn't want to go over even a 1/100th of a gallon.

Gas pumps can also get skimmers put on them much easier than the indoor card reader. Or, if I'm in there buying a bottle of water or something anyway. Might as well just pre-pay for the gas at the same time.

DU's athletic teams are known as the Denver Pioneers. The school has been fielding athletic teams since 1867, winning 32 NCAA Division One titles since 1949—among the top 10 of all schools. Denver is best known as a major power in winter sports, in particular, skiing and ice hockey. DU has won 23 NCAA national team skiing championships (more than any other school). Ice hockey is DU's flagship spectator sport, with eight NCAA titles (tied for second among all schools), most recently in 2017 and including back-to-back crowns in 2004 and 2005. The program has produced 75 NHL players and regularly sells out the 6,000 seat Magness Arena on campus, the showpiece of the

The Pioneers' major conference affiliations changed in July 2013. Denver moved its primary affiliation from the Western Athletic Conference to The Summit League, hockey moved from the Western Collegiate Hockey Association to the National Collegiate Hockey Conference, and men's lacrosse moved from the ECAC Lacrosse League to the Big East Conference. In addition, the women's gymnastics team joined the newly formed Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference in 2013 and later moved to the Big 12 Conference in July 2015.

The Pioneers captured their first men's lacrosse championship in 2015, beating Maryland, 10-5. They are the first Division I men's team west of the Appalachians to win a men's NCAA lacrosse championship. The 2016 men's soccer team advanced to the NCAA College Cup.

The school has identified itself as the Pioneers since 1925.[39] Previous mascots were Pioneer Pete (1920s to 1968), Denver Boone (1968 to 1998), and Ruckus the red-tailed hawk (1998 to 2007). A 2013 task force generated three new mascot options, but none of them carried enough votes from the University community to merit selection.[40]

This. I've had my card number jacked at a gas station before. I prepay with cash now.

It would probably sell as a new "designer" dog breed for about $4,500.
