I read that he was. I couldn't stand Rosanne during it's original run.

I actually liked it. I like Goodman and for some reason I like whiny Roseanne. Never liked the kids though

Fitting.

Rosanne always annoyed me. During that time period there was an abundance of sitcoms to choose from that I never bought into Rosanne.

And MB, I'd consider Curb a good sitcom still running. Larry David is coming back for another season.

I only watched reruns. My wife is a fan though.

The jokes were pretty good.

Never gave it a try. But I like studio audiences for my sitcoms.

Weird, but I do.

I get it, it's a throw back. Curb is just an unfiltered Seinfeld. If you weren't a Seinfeld fan, you'd probably hate it. I love David.

It's the formatting. Sooo many comedies that I'm sure are excellent I never bothered with because I just need that studio audience format.

Curb
Office
Parks
Modern Family
Brooklyn99
IASIP

Not one episode. I'm just weird like that.

Curb and the Office are both top 5 all time for me, but I get it.

Edit: No Arrested Development either, I assume?

As an aside, my wife and I watch that 70s show from time to time on Netflix. When I was younger, I liked the kids, but now Kitty and Red are our favorites.

Yeah. 70's, Frasier, 3rd Rock, I wish I could get reruns of Mad about you.

Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt were very good together ... and then there was that character Ursula (She's the one standing)

This show was TWO years BEFORE Friends

My ex burnt me out on sitcoms. She watched everyone she could and then watched the summer reruns of the ones she couldn't. By the time I left her in '02, I didn't care if I ever saw another sitcom the rest of my life. A couple years ago, I started watching The Good Place with my daughter. It was my first venture back to sitcom land. Since I started watching that, I watched all the seasons of Last Man Standing. That was some damn funny stuff. Tim Allen is great at comedy. The controversy over ABC dumping it got me interested enough to check it out. Glad I did. I probably should give sitcoms more of a chance again.

All part of the master plan which culminated with a NBC evening lineup of:

Seinfeld
Friends
ER

What a freaking gluttony of riches...

NO broadcast station had ever seen, or will ever see again, a lineup like this...

Mad About You originally batted 1st on Must See TV nights...

It's not close to that line up, but prime TGIF (many different iterations of it) were amazing as well. I had to have a good VCR ready to record for 2 hours if it looked like skate night would be good.

So being the feel that I am, I looked up NBC Thursday nights...WOW

In the 80s they had a line up of:

The Cosby Show
Family Ties
Cheers
(Whatever)
Hill Street Blues or LA Law

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn!

I finally started GoT and to no surprise at all it's fantastic as everyone I know has advertised. I always knew it would be but I also knew it would be like eating all of Christmas dinner at once because I can hardly put it down. It's taking me here and there to learn who everyone is but I'm genuinely enjoying every moment of it. I'm a little over halfway through season 1 and the only thought I can really muster is, "Multiple people I know have said 'hang in there because it's a little bit drawn out in the beginning but trust me it's worth it' and yet I love the story telling and do not mind anything I've seen one bit" I'm excited to know that this is only going to get better.

Nothing's really been the same for me since Breaking Bad. I thought for a long time that TWD was gonna fill that void but I just couldn't go on with it anymore. I tried Mr. Robot but it just sort of fell off after the first episode.

Yeah...GoT is tens of times better than TWD. Once you get to know all the characters back stories, blah, blah, blah, they dispense with the fluff and **** gets real and pretty much stays real from then on.

Season 2 is slow. I know of a lot of people who quit on the show then, but from 3 on it's really rewarding and progressively gets better. GoT is easily my favorite TV show of all time. If you were on the previous board you would know I was a HUGE LOST fan, so that says a lot.

I quit TWD a while ago, too much bad writing, bad acting, and the story line didn't advance.

I've never had more than a fleeting interest in GoT, and even that has only been because I've wondered if I really am missing out. I just can't get into it even the thought of starting it.

Just that "style" of fantasy, I guess. I've always felt the same way about LotR, too.

LotR is super boring. I hated the series. GoT is like Sapranos meets LOST with dragons and magic mixed in. A lot of story, characterization, twist, connections, fodder/seeds for fan theories, gore, sex, etc.

It's really well done.

The nobody is safe moniker hasn't been true for a few seasons, but people die and the rest of what you said is true. It's not for some people.
