Last one Wins CUBED ..... (Part 3) - 2019 Edition

Postby Crocaneers » Tue Jan 01, 2019 9:34 am

with the Admin decision to close LOW2 (Squared) .. we go to three (CUBED) ....

Let's have 2019 be a great and glorious season of LOW ! For all those who have not played ... it's really just another random thread with no purpose at all .... like a Seinfeld episode.

Out of curiosity, how many of you get the "damn, I'm old" feeling at New Year's now? It's a combination of:

1. I'm perfectly happy to be spending it at home watching **** Clark's show.
2. I'm still not used to the fact that it's not actually **** Clark's show anymore.
3. I don't know who 75% of the musical performers are.
4. I'm not entirely sure if half of those 75% are even speaking English.
5. I'm 100% sure that 100% of them suck.
[bonus] I was lucky to make it much past midnight.

It seems like those are things that old people think.

Good breakdown Kress.

I would put more like 90% of the music, but that could be I'm older than many (just not as old as Buc2).

If I watched any New Year's Eve shows I may feel old, but it's always just something muted in the background or turned on with 5-10 minutes before the ball drops wherever I'm at for NYE.

That said, I'd agree with all 5 points most likely.

What makes me feel old is knowing 1999 was 20 years ago. FML!!

To get back to this... I've always felt old, even when I wasn't. Especially when it came the NYE. I was always happier going out for a really good (early) dinner, then getting home and off the road before anyone got on it. Drink as much as I want, no lines, no crowd, no worries.

I don't care about what's on TV. The wife cares more about that. I think more often than not it ends up being the **** Clark Ryan Seacrest show. My wife was glued to the TV for the New Kids performance. I was in the dining room prepping dessert. I don't know who else performed besides them and Christina Aguilera, who was on the TV when I went into the family room with the champagne. So I couldn't tell you if I know the other performers, but I'd place good money that I don't.

And do they speak English? Were they mumble rappers? Then no. They don't.

What makes me feel super old is talking about "classic movies from our past" and then looking up when they came out.

I'm an 80's kid...but talking with my brother about watching Home Alone (1990) sure got me feeling like I was sitting in God's waiting room.

We had a relatively chill NYE. My fiancé got home from work around 8, so it was just me, our one year old and dog for most of the day. Watched a ton of college football and smoked a prime rib. Had a few drinks, good meal, and champagne at midnight with my family. I’ll take that over going out any day.

As the college championship game approaches, think about this: Clemson's starting QB probably doesn't remember Y2K and all of the hoopla surrounding the 2000 New Year. After all, he was barely two months old.

Much the same as many of the players wont have reference to 9/11.

I missed the chance to thank everyone for their kind words about MS on the last thread, but I wanted to do so.

It's a **** disease. It'll shorten my lifespan. But in the scheme of things, it's hardly the worst hand you can be dealt. I'm thankful.
