Before Cheb mentioned the 'heyday' of message boards, it hadn't really occurred to me that message board aren't popular anymore. I guess I was aware of that given the popularity of other social media platforms, but never thought about it since I've grown up posting with many of you and have read messages daily for almost 15 years now. I used to go here first for any team-related news. I primarily use Bleacher Report's team feed now and then follow up to see what everyone has to say about it since others here are up to speed faster than I am. The times are changing faster than I can take them in since I'm not as in-lust with technology as many of other millennials are.

Cool story. Nice to see someone that has "grown up" with these boards.

The first time I signed up on the official TBBBB was like 1997. At least I think it was '97. Was it even around back then? I rarely posted back then and stopped visiting that board for a few years in the early to mid 2000's. Came back full time around '06 and followed the various migrations to get where we are today.

Thank you. I think there was some kind of version of the Official TBBBB in '97. The one I remember I believe had formed sometime in December 1999. I remember this because user names like Grim Reaper and (I think) 14DaRams and others had sign-up dates in December '99 and those were the earliest I remember seeing.

It may have been '99 I was thinking of. Like I said, I'm not sure of that '97 date.

It's weird to compare real life events to being on the board. If someone just asked "how long have you been here?", I'd think "I don't know, 8-10 years?"

In reality, I started on the board because my dad would take me along to his old job. He was an accountant and it was an office, so I'd just sit there at a computer for a few hours. The board was a great way to pass time.

He got an award for being at his current job for 15 years last year.

He was an ***hole. Granted there are still ***holes (I'm sure some think I may be one), but he was pretty universally despised, except by the pathetic lackeys that nut-hugged so BFT wouldn't target them.

The yellow console, with the black and silver controller paddles with the little red button upper left?

I was about 7.

My birth year:

Apollo 14
Idi Amin took power.
Obama's buddy Bill Ayers and friends bombed the US Capitol.
Frazier beats Ali.
NYT starts publishing the Pentagon Papers.
Disney World opens.
D.B. Cooper.

And apparently Denise Richards and Kid Rock are both a few months older than me.

Yes - we actually remembered to put people inside our creation.

Rest assured, their 'Grail' was nothing more than a cheap Chinese import...

Buc2, just about everyone in here never knew how good McDonalds french fries used to be. Talk aboutgetting cheated, and getting force fed crappy fries for their entire existence.

Right? If they have even half a clue, they'd get their fries at Five Guys now.

P.S. Wendy's stepped up their fry game. Better than McPuke's fries. Still not better than Five Guys though.
