One Dead After Florida Man Tries to Shoot Bucket Off Friend's Head

LAND O’ LAKES — A 44-year-old man has been arrested and charged with manslaughter in the Sunday night shooting death of a man outside the Rock Harley Saloon on U.S. 41, the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office said.

Jeffrey Camarda, of 4326 Beaumaris Drive, Land O’ Lakes, was arrested late Monday in a parking lot near State Road 54 and U.S. Highway 41, just south of the bar where investigators say he shot Billy Lee McDaniel, sheriff’s records said.

The sheriff’s office previously stated that McDaniel was shot during an initiation into the Southern Sons Motorcycle Club, but investigators are “backing off” that statement Tuesday afternoon, a sheriff’s spokesman said.

Investigators said McDaniel was drinking in the bar’s back parking lot with members of the Southern Sons Motorcycle Club when the shooting occurred.

McDaniel was standing and holding a plastic garbage can over his head, and club members were tossing bottles and cups into the bucket, when Camarda “attempted to shoot the bucket from McDaniel’s head,” a sheriff’s spokesman said in a news release.

Camarda fled the scene after a bullet struck McDaniel in the head, witnesses said.

McDaniel was flown to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, where he died early Monday, the sheriff’s office said.

Camarda, who went to work Monday morning, was being held in the Land O’ Lakes Jail on Tuesday with bail at $250,000. Camarda does not have a criminal history in Pasco, records show.

Florida Man Suspected of Using Private Plane to Draw Giant Radar Penis

Image

"This is your pilot speaking. We're at a cruising altitude of 41,000 feet, and we're just going to be making penis shapes in the air today."

Aviation fans who on Thursday night happened to check FlightRadar24 — the popular site that gives users the ability to track the flight paths of planes around the world — might have noticed an odd pattern that a private plane made above Florida.

If you haven't noticed just yet, it greatly resembles a penis.

While it's unknown whether this particular pilot was aware that he or she was drawing a sky penis (come on, they had to know), it's definitely hilarious.

Florida Man Butt Dials Victim, Leaves Voicemail Explaining Crime He’s About to Commit

Image

The digital age presents all sorts of challenges, which two alleged thieves in Key West discovered this week.

David Ricky Fanuelsen, 39, and Dean Ellis Brown, 22, are accused of stealing three saws from their employer, Concrete Solutions, at a job site on North Roosevelt Boulevard.

They got caught after one of them accidentally “butt dialed” the office. The call went to voice mail, which recorded Fanuelsen and Brown discussing how they planned to pawn the tools, Key West Police Department spokeswoman Alyson Crean said.

Detectives interviewed both men, who admitted they stole the saws with the intention of selling them, Crean said.

They each face a felony grand theft charge. As of Friday afternoon, both were held in county jail in Key West, each on a $10,000 bond.

Florida Man Tries to Convince Woman to Buy, Cook, Eat Iguanas Duct-Taped to His Bike

Jeremy Dugas, 35, a line cook in Key West, Florida, was caught trying to sell bound iguanas as food and charged with one misdemeanor count of animal cruelty.

Jeremy Dugas allegedly hawked the critters he claimed he'd caught at a local golf club outside the Banana Cafe restaurant in Key West at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Keys Info Net reported.

The 35-year-old is accused of strapping three of the defenseless creatures to his handlebars with duct tape and wire.

He then attempted to peddle the lizards, which were bound behind their backs, to passersby by saying they'd be perfect to cook for dinner.

A concerned bystander called the cops, according to the Bradenton Herald.

Dugas initially claimed to officer Frank Betz that he'd only tried to sell the animals to a woman to try and get her to leave him alone.

But two restaurant customers then came forward to confirm Dugas had indeed been trying to auction the critters off.

Florida Keys Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals' officer Mitchell Smith arrived on the scene.

The iguanas, which are legal to kill for food in Florida because they are a non-native species, were untied and Smith took them into custody, The Miami Herald reported.

Dugas was arrested for his treatment of the animals and the way they'd been secured. He was charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty and remains in the Monroe County on $5,000 bond.

LAKE MARY, Florida — George Zimmerman was involved in a shooting during a reported road rage incident in Lake Mary on Monday afternoon, Lake Mary Police Chief Steve Bracknell told WESH-TV.

The shooting reportedly happened on Lake Mary Boulevard, east of Interstate 4.

Officers at the scene told WESH it appeared Zimmerman suffered a minor gunshot wound. A witness told the news station he saw Zimmerman walking normally into the ambulance without help.

WFTV is reporting Zimmerman was shot in the face, however, we have not yet been able to confirm that information.

Remember that one time when we all said Zimmerman was looking out for his community and Trayvon was a thug who got what he deserved? Good times.

The man featured on the beer label is the same guy on the Florida Man Twitter account: Ricky Lee Kalichun. He was an Indiana resident (strangely enough) when he was arrested in 2011 after allegedly drawing on his own face with a sharpie and attacking a man with a sword.
Redner said he didn't ask for Kalichun's permission to use the photo, but he hopes he'll just embrace the humor.

Chances he trys getting paid?

Exclusive Details

0511-george-zimmerman-getty-01George Zimmerman was involved in a shooting with another man, and Zimmerman's lawyer tells TMZ ... his client and the other guy may not be strangers.

The shooting went down Monday afternoon on a road in Lake Mary, FL ... where Zimmerman lives. Police tell us they got a call for a road rage incident. News footage from the scene shows a bullet hole in the front passenger side window of Zimmerman's truck.

Zimmerman's lawyer, Don West, tells TMZ Zimmerman told him he believes he recognized the other driver as someone with whom he had a run in several months ago.

The lawyer says Zimmerman told him the other driver drove along side his client and fired into the driver's side window.

The lawyer says Zimmerman was not struck by a bullet, but rather shattering glass.

We do not know the race of the other man involved in the shooting.

I posted this on Facebook, but how horrible a person must you be to get shot and the only thing people are upset about is that you didn't die? It's been one thing or another with this guy ever since he got away with murder.

I believe differently. And sometimes the law does not protect those it was originally intended to protect.

JACKSONVILLE, Florida – Geoff Gaylord, 37, entered the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office earlier today and turned himself in for killing his imaginary friend — Mr. Happy. Gaylord told officers he had stabbed Mr. Happy repeatedly with a kitchen knife, cut up the body with a hatchet and buried the victim in his backyard.

Image

A remorseful Gaylord told officers he wanted the death penalty for his crime — preferably, “right now.”

Gaylord said he killed his imaginary friend of seven years for multiple reasons – one, for being messy.

“His room was a mess all the time with his toys and dolls,” Gaylord told police. “He left his empty vodka bottles all over the kitchen… never picked up his empty cocaine baggies and left the toilet seat down when he peed. He messed up my apartment to the point where I just couldn’t get it clean. Before Hap started doing drugs and acting weird he was my BFF (best friend forever). We’d go dancing, play on the children’s park equipment, both huge fans of doom metal – listened to it for hours with the lights turned off.”

Gaylord said he and Mr. Happy had grown very unhappy in their relationship and hadn’t had a “real conversation” in at least a year. The breaking point came when Mr. Happy allegedly crashed Mr. Gaylord’s Nissan ALTIMA after the friends had been out celebrating Mr. Happy’s birthday at Hooters, which resulted in Mr. Gaylord being arrested instead of Mr. Happy.

“That drunk driving incident I got unfairly blamed for and just how messy he had become put me over the edge and I murdered him,” Mr. Gaylord told police. “It was an overreaction. I should have listened to the neighbor lady and got us into counseling, but no, I did the unthinkable and killed my best friend. I’m a terrible, terrible person and I need to be punished.”

Police said Gaylord was extremely intoxicated and threatened to kill police after they told him they could not give him the death penalty for his crime.

Police took Mr. Gaylord into custody and obtained a search warrant for his house where they found drug paraphernalia and a machine gun. Gaylord was booked on multiple charges. Bail has not been set.
