Fam and I went and saw "The Nun" last night....

Horrible, HORRIBLE movie...complete cash grab....

I liked Conjuring 2 and the Valek character/demon is frightening as hell and these ***holes ruined it...

This was on par with those stupid ass Quija movies...

Upgrade. Surprisingly fun movie. Not sure about the ending, but it’s definitely worth seeing.

Oscar Isaac made that movie.

BTW, "was pretty damned interesting until it became a thriller" is how I felt about "Unsane" also. The first half was so good. Then it became another stupid obsessive psycho movie.

I love the Predator franchise.

I love Shane Black in general.

"The Predator" was awful.

Sloppy, poorly edited, joyless, illogical, boring, filled with plot holes and continuity errors, and with a steaming dog-turd of an ending. And it wasted about a half-dozen really good actors.

"Predators" (the one with Adrien Brody) is SO much better.

Extremely underrated film, and I was very hopeful this would be good. It has a little star power with Sterling K, but I am betting he is a scene shower, and that's it.

I was on the fence on this one, and may skip until I can stream, plane watch, etc.

Life Itself

Mrs C and I went to see Life Itself Saturday. We both are Dan Fogleman fans, and if you follow his "This is US" series you will like it. It's a good journey through several lives, and makes a great point in the end. Antonia Bandaras proves he can still act. It doesn't stop the world, but does make you think of how things come together.

I actually liked The Predator, thought the humor worked well. Don't like the whole we have to make a bigger Predator because it's a sequel plot point. Or the CGI Pedator dogs, but the characters were great, played off each other well, and the motel scene had me rolling.

Night School

Kevin Hart is very funny. This is a good comedy, doesn't directly fold on race, and ended well.

We enjoyed seeing a premiere.

We watched Night School last night. It was funny all the way through and I enjoyed the little message in the film. The Mrs and I had low expectations for it. We only went to see it because we have AMC A-List and didn’t have anything else to see at the moment. Night School is a fun watch and you’ll laugh well throughout the movie.

A Star is Born.
Chick wanted to see it as part of her birthday weekend.

To my surprise, Lady Gaga was pretty good. Bradley Cooper tried too hard to be like Jeff Bridges in Crazy Heart.

Overall, quite the downer of a movie.

That's the story line.. the last two were downers as well but were well acted.

I'm looking forward to seeing it next weekend (we have plans this weekend). Hopefully it stays up

Disclaimer...I only really like documentaries and comedies.

Got dragged out to see Venom last night. Same thing as any other movie this genre, but I'd say a little more of a thriller. I liked it better when it was called Terminator 2. Other than that, same story line as any other comic book movie.

Bad Times at the El Royale

Good movie overall. They do a good job of explaining the backstory of all the characters and showing different events from different perspectives.

Wow. Bradley really can sing, Gaga can really act.

And then there is Andrew Dice Clay.

I liked Lady Gaga before she was cool. It started with Poker Face which I hated the first time I heard it. Then, the more I heard it, the more I came to like it. From then on, I was a fan. As for acting, the first thing I saw her in was AHS: Hotel. I was surprised at how well she did. So, yeah...what Caradoc said. She's incredibly talented.

incredible. I was a bit naive myself and thought she was more gimmick than talent. Then she did a couple of Stern Interviews and I saw how talented she was.. heard her story about being an addict and her reason for wanting to stop was because she wanted her family over drugs... any ways, if you are looking for a really good interview of Lady Gaga, check out her Stern appearances.. I think she's been on 2 or 3 times now.

Edit: and now I'm stuck in a Youtube rabbit hole!

Lady Gaga is a phenomenally talented artist. One of my favs. I don't care for her as a person and think she is a total wacko, but I was taught early on to separate the art from the artist or the athlete on TV from the person off of it.

I still love Michael Jackson music to this day and still believe he was a pedo.

The wife I loved 'A star is born'. I knew she could act from watching American Horror Story, but she certainly cranked it up a notch in this movie.

Pretty much anyone in the entertainment industry has an issue. It's a personality trait that get's them there, and usually exits them. Lady Gaga has always been able to create her own path well before it ends, which is really beneficial.

I cannot imagine anything she does will be better than "A Star is Born". I was streaming the soundtrack working yesterday, and immediately remembered the scenes in teh movie. That's an impact.

I see at least four Oscar nominations coming out: Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Song.

yeah, spot on.

It's crazy. All you have to do is watch Getting Coffee in Cars with Comedians. It's a mindblowing watch. At least for me it has been. I've never been a huge fan of Seinfeld - it was a little before my time and I just wasn't drawn to it. But I'll say this, after watching about 10 episodes of his Coffee/Cars show, my respect for Jerry has SKY ROCKETED. Completely surrounded by scatter-brained, psuedo-paranoid, enigmatic, narcissistic personalities, Jerry Seinfeld has remained pretty damn normal and even keel. And you know what? Jerry is funny as hell. He keeps it light, he adlibs well, he listens - I mean he's got this *thing* that you can tell the other comedians wish they had - his level of sanity.

Jim Carrey, Steve Martin, John Oliver, Will Ferrell, Jim Gaffigan, Zach Galifinakis (big time), Howard Stern (HUGELY) all seem uncomfortable in their skin. Julia Louis-Dreyfus is the only one that I've seen that comes off as semi-normal. Otherwise, "hollywood" has REALLY done a number on all the rest. It's a crazy ass life that does some crazy ass things to you / your ego / your whole existence...
