Patriots Day was a really good movie. I thought it was very well done. Pretty intense at times.

Can we stop injecting Mark Wahlberg into every film about a recent disaster?

Swear to god they are going to make a movie about the 2016 election and Wahlberg will be playing Bernie Sanders if this keeps up.

He's playing Tom Brady in Depressed Air Horizon, coming this fall.

Really well acted and great true story of the group that starTed the space program. I'm not really sure why this story has not been taught or told until now.

Costner, Parsons, and Spencer all were excellent. Our family really were encouraged after the movie

Highly recommend seeing this

"Split."

I'll put it like this:

If you're unfamiliar with M. Night films, it's a really good thriller with a couple of great perfromances.

If you're familiar with M. Night films, and you loved his early ones, you absolutely have to see it because:

Spoiler:
It's a backdoor sequel to "Unbreakable," my all time favorite film, and it's meant as the 2nd film in an "Unbreakable" trilogy, with the 3rd film involving Bruce Willis's David Dunn doing battle with James McAvoy's "Horde."

Went to see this last night.

I thought it was pretty good, drug a little at times, McAvoy was great, and then...

Spoiler:
HOLY ****ing CHRIST YES, he did it! He finally continued his Unbreakable trilogy.

Final verdict: loved it!

"Nocturnal Animals"

Once you get the film's central conceit/trick/purpose (which is spoon-fed early on), there's really nothing there. Great performances I guess.

Finally got around to watching "Split" last night..McAvoy was awesome..

Solid movie..the "twist" wasn't real twisty, but the tie in at the end more than made up for it..

HAD to watch Unbreakable afterwards just for nostalgia sake..

Whoop that ass David Dunn!!

Split is ok but not great. it's an origin story for a villain within the unbreakable universe. The unbreakable sequel will come next and it will be Bruce Willis's hero character facing off against James Mcavoy's villain character. That movie will be the true sequel.

I don't like most Shyamalan movies. The sixth sense and unbreakable are the only two I liked

[quote="Super K""Girl on a Train"..same author as Gone Girl, I think? Solid movie..plot is a little reachy, but if you just allow yourself to fall into it, it's believable...and while the twist is cliche, it's done in a way where it feels sincere and new..
[/quote]

Watched this last night. You did a solid review of it. Excellent performances by the entire cast did a lot to help hold this movie up.

After he totally destroyed Avatar the man shouldn't be allowed to direct a school play, let alone a movie. I did like a lot of his other stuff tho

Just saw Get Out.

I really enjoyed it. Very weird and creepy and funny, with quite a few jump moments.

If the trailer intrigues you, then check it out.

I just saw it tonight.

Don't watch the trailer!!!! Just go see it. The trailer gives away the whole movie.

I walked into the theater without seeing anything, one of the best movie going experiences I've ever had. That is null and void if you watch the trailer.

Well, I saw the trailer and disagree that it makes it "null and void." I also wouldn't have seen it otherwise, because I would have associated with Key and Peele -- whom I don't really care for.

That being said, if you haven't seen the trailer already, I agree just go see it.

Saw Hacksaw Ridge last night. Great movie. Absolutely unbelievable human being. The proper words escape me to describe him... Just truly remarkable. The best of humanity. I know it may sound like I'm exaggerating... But you watch that movie... And then you even do some research... and you realize it's all true... Man... What can you say? Just fantastic.

Saw The Finest Hours on Netflix today.

Lovely true story about a guy who saved 32 sailors off the coast of cape cod in the 50s.

I love the casting in this film and the case study in leadership. Casey Affleck was also excellent as well as Eric Bana and a slew of good character actors.

Great Man vs. Nature story and kudos to Chris Pine for stepping away from CPT Kirk for this lead role. Totally believable as a simple man trying to do the right thing.

Worth your time.

I just watched that last night myself. Great movie. What he accomplished was simply staggering. Watching the credits, I realized that I moved to his hometown the very month & year he passed away (March 2006).

Also finally watched Sully (it was okay...nothing great) and The Accountant (way better than I was expecting).

"remarkable": worthy of attention; striking

at the very core, his story is "truly worthy of attention"
