My grandpa played a huge role in the battle of Dunkirk, was very excited to see it but my uncle saw it and had major issues with it so never saw it.

Saw You Were Never Really Here. Love Phoenix but the film was a bit too disjointed for my liking.

What issues did your uncle have with it? I haven’t seen it, but your comment is interesting.

1000 faces of Dunjia. Great GCI, no plot. I got really drunk so I don't remember how it ended.

I watched Godzilla '98 for the first time, and I seriously think it's the worst big-budget blockbuster I've ever seen. It's like Emmerich took the worst things about Independence Day, put them in a blender with much, much worse CGI, then sprinkled on an obnoxious cast, bad dialogue, and a lot of laziness. What a piece of ****.

New movies I watched on the way home :

- Greatest Showman - Exceptionally good. I really like a good musical, and this was a great movie
- Pitch Perfect 3 - Funny, much better than the second one
- Ghost in the Machine - not sure why I never saw this. It was okay. I felt like I was watching a Blade Runner mock up. ScaJo is still awesome, but the movie is just there

I watched a few others and dozed in and out. 15 hours is just a long time to kill.

I texted my cousin about this and asked him what his dads complaints were as I can't remember (they saw it together when he was visiting last summer). My cousin texted me back that the narrative was just way too complicated since my uncle is quite old.

If I recall I think he was disapointed that there were no mention of the suicide missions my grandpa participated in that held the germans back enough to allow the evacuation.

Watched The Hitman's Bodyguard. Typical Samuel L. Jackson action flick. Fun, albeit, largely unbelievable. But at the end of the day, if it was fun, that's all that matters. IMDb's 6.9 is about right. Maybe a little higher than I'd have given it. But a solid 6 none the less.

I mean...I feel like Godzilla is down three touchdowns at kickoff because it's spending a couple hours with The Rock or or with Matthew Broderick. I have to believe even dudes would understand.

Watched Annihilation last night on demand. Natalie Portman and the guy who played “Poe” in Star Wars. I’m still not sure what I saw, but I was entertained.

I saw Deadpool 2. It's weird because I was entertained and laughed quite a bit, but I didn't really like it. I just kept feeling like it was trying too hard with the overall story arc and I found it kind of annoying.

I also saw Upgrade and loved it.

Saw Deadpool 2 last night. They nailed it. The meta humor was perfect and I laughed throughout the movie. I like this one at least as much as I liked the first Deadpool...maybe even a little more.

Watched the Original "The Omen" and "Damien: The Omen 2" yesterday...

The first one is an absolute horror classic, the 2nd I'd give a B+ in the "Seventies Movie Sequel" category...

Wife and I saw "Heriditary" yesterday....I liked it, though some of the crowd DEFINITELY did not..

Saw a review that classified it as a mix between "Rosemary's Baby" and "The Exorcist 3"....that's not too far off...

DEFINITELY has one of the most shocking scenes I've EVER watched in it..the whole theatre gasped...

Wife and I saw TAG last night. It's not the funniest movie in the world but it did its job and had a great premise.
