First car: 1978 Ford Granada
Current car: 2012 Kia Soul
Probable next car: Whatever my wife is driving when she upgrades. See airport points below.
Favorite car you ever had: Nissan Maxima .. pretty nice ride, but will admit I do like my Kia now.
Impractical dream car: I dont leave the Earth on cars, they take me to airports .. be safe, comfortable, and efficient.
Shittiest car you ever had: 1980ish Chevy Chevette, it used to hate driving up Virginia mountains, and I would have to drive 45 on an interstate going up hill
Coolest car you ever owned: 1987 Chevy Corvette .. ex bought (through my encouragement) .. we enjoyed the N Va hills and excursions .. really great until she became pregnant. We kept it until we moved down to Florida and sold it to her sister, keeping it in the family.

Oh I’ll play!

First Car: 1979 Oldsmobile Delta 88. Lost my virginity in the backseat. Roomy.
Current Car: 2015 Nissan Altima SL. Great car. Efficient. Decent pickup. Love the CVT transmission...
Probable Next Car: It depends. If I have a mid-life crisis? Probably the Nissan 370Z Roadster. Yeah. I’ll probably plan on that to mitigate whatever stupidity may come from such a crisis anyway. Thing is, that’d limit my wife’s ability to ride with me (my dog follows me everywhere)..
Impractical Dream Car: Probably a late model Jaguar F-Type convertible.
Shittiest Car ever owned: That’s easy. 1982 Cutlass Supreme. If you ever owned one, you know.
Coolest Car ever owned: I’ll go with what is likely not to jump off the page as something awesome, but for the time of my life / situation? It really hit the spot. 1989 Toyota Celica GT. From the beach to traveling home from college over the holidays to the weeklong concert junkets...I wonder how many Phish shows I trekked to in that thing. :P

Definitely love the CVT transmission! Living where I do, I know it is saving on brake replacements. Also, while I do want to go back to a truck for my next vehicle, I may end up going with the Maxima instead.

Shittiest car I've ever had: 1999 Chevy Malibu. In my 3 years owning it

-Power steering failed
-Brake replacement 5 times
-Blown head gasket
-Had to change tires twice
-Radiator replaced
-AC immediately stopped working less than a month after I got it
-Central computer system completely fried
-Had to somehow manage to replace the tail lights twice

And believe me I'm not remembering all of it. I totaled $7,000 to keep that piece of **** running. The tranny blew 2 weeks after I got rid of it

Current car: 1999 Acura TL

I ****ing love that thing. Problem is the timing belt screwed up and thank God no serious damage was done. I'm just too broke to fix the nonsense with my license and registration and it's sitting in the yard

Other current car: 1996 Buick Century

It's a piece of **** but it runs

Dream car

My first car Corolla I bought for $400. Drove it for two years, had one of my friends set the back seat ceiling on fire trying to mess with a lighter, and then sold it for $600. It was ugly as sin, too. Brown. Who makes a brown car?

I also loved my Dodge Powerwagon. That thing was a beast. It leaked antifreeze, which dripped onto the exhaust, so it always smoked and looked like it was on fire. But it kicked ass, especially if you went off road in 4 wheel drive.

Oddly enough, I also had a Suzuki Samurai. The complete opposite of the Powerwagon. But that thing was great off road as well because it was just too light to get stuck. With its 120 horsepower, or whatever it was, it just puttered through. And I managed not to tip it! Those things were notoriously unstable.

Anybody ever consider the amount of $ Clark Kent spends on button up shirts? He literally never takes off a shirt like a normal person.

Last time it snowed widespread across the south like this, the entire south shut down for 2 days, this is more snow this time. They may want to invest into some guys salting the roads and a couple emergency snow plows or something in cases like this.

My commute to work this morning (7:30ish)...

The drive in...

Made it!

Many of our branch warehouses are closed today. Roanoke, Lynchburg (yet Corporate is open as usual), Greensboro, Raleigh, Atlanta, Richmond. Columbia SC is doing limited deliveries. Even though Corporate is open, lots of folks didn't come in. We never close, be we are allowed to use personal time to take off if we feel like the drive in would be too unsafe. Some of our people live out in some fairly remote areas and their roads don't get treated like they do around town.

Doesn't happen here enough to really bother me. One thing I've learned, deeper snow is much easier to drive on than the **** (3-5 inches) we are getting today. When it isn't deep, traffic causes it to turn slushier which makes it much more slippery.

I live in SE Texas and that's the problem here. It was raining as the cold came in and everything is coated in ice. The temp isn't even that bad- mid 20s. It's just unsafe to go anywhere or do anything. I tried walking my dogs last night and the 3 of us just took turns busting our asses. There is a wicker mat on the front porch that's about 1 1/2 inches thick and the ice is level with it and even thicker in uncovered areas.

I can't imagine trying to drive anywhere. Every bridge is closed. We don't have salt trucks and stuff to help on the roads. I was born in Indiana and would choose snow 10 times out of 10 over this mess.
