Taking our 2yr old to Busch Gardens for the first time Sunday (weather permitting).

Took our 1 and 3 year olds for the first time today. They loved but it was PACKED. They had people parking at the waterpark with shuttles running every 45 minutes. We ended up parking just West of MOSI in the strip mall that has Einstein and Qdoba and Uber'd to the park. Total for two Uber rides was just over $15; saved some money on parking and got dropped off/picked up right at the gate. Keep this in mind for tomorrow if you're comfortable with that plan.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm always looking for ways to mitigate the parking/tram/waiting situation at theme parks. But parking is included with our passes so I just drop my wife and child off at the guest drop off and then go meet them inside once I've parked. It works out best for everyone as our two year old gets into the park quickly and I don't have to deal with lugging our stroller on and off the tram while dealing with an impatient wife and daughter.

any of you floridians with pools have a variable speed pool pump?

do the new high efficiency ones really save as much money as they claim to?

I could set mine to variable speeds, but don't mess with it. I have mine come on at 10 AM and off at 8. I start off with a higher rev, and then 15 minutes stays around 2400 (I think).

Here’s what I’m a bit confused on, my current pump (which is about to die) is 1.5 HP. The one I was looking at was a variable speed 3.0 HP. The guy at the shop said this new one (even at 3400 RPM) will use less electric then my current one.

I’m wondering if this is true or not? Looking online it seems for my pool / hot tub size I’d be looking at running it around 2,500 to 2,700 rpm.

I count the days when I move to Virginia and don't .... Maybe its a perspective thing. I have loved the pool days, but the maintenance, etc I am over .. believe me it was worth it when lil Croc was .... lil .. we rarely get in anymore, and I continue to brush, treat, etc ...

We will not buy our next house with a pool.

My woman at the time gave me two options. I could either hire a yard guy or a pool guy. Our budget could afford one but not both. I was well versed in yard work and knew next to nothing about pools, so I choose to hire a pool guy. Plus, my yard was mostly house & an enclosed pool. It really made my decision easy. :D

I'm very excited to have posted my first LoW win after years of futile posting. None of this would have been possible without my mom and Bill Gates. Thank you all for your support.

Good point about being a perspective thing. As someone with a small child we love having our pool and get alot of use out of it. But my oldest sister has 3 kids w/ the youngest being 14 now and rarely use theirs anymore.

Finding a good pool service is key. Our first one was a nightmare, but we found a guy that runs his own company that lives on our street so the $80/month we pay is fine since our pool looks great year round now.

I actually enjoy doing my own yardwork though. It's therapeutic in a weird way, similar to working out. I certainly wouldn't want to do it everyday or for 8 hours straight. But a couple hours on a weekend morning allows me to disconnect for a bit.
