Swashy wrote:Alright I'll ask a serious question now. What thing or things do you consider to be the most important discoveries/inventions/achievements in the history of mankind?

My answers in no particular order to give you an idea of what I'm going with here

1. Antibiotics against disease
2. The understanding and utilization of mathematics
3. The domestication of the horse for working purposes
4. Invention of reading/writing

I'd like to say fire and electricity but those occur naturally versus taking time to do something like coming up with a system of symbols that identify with purposeful language

Answering your own inquiries eliminates the need for my response to same.. This is NOT a contest young man!

You know... I had a feeling that would happen. I tried posing that question to people I knew and my friend answered "alcohol" Lady Swash gave me a taste of my own medicine said "sliced bread" like a smart ass and didn't want to answer because she was too busy having philosophical discussions on facebook (paging Delt) my sister did a little better when she said "when we learned to use love for the greater good" and mother when she said "when we instituted government" I literally couldn't help myself but to qualify because I genuinely wanted to have that discussion.

Well here's a timeless one.... I said "DAMMIT!" when I saw your response. Does that mean I have to pay Slim because he owns the copyright? I still owe Croc for that time I said "The end is nigh" and I'm saying it now because I've got nothing to lose.

Indeed... I figured if I was gonna go down that route then I would have needed to add the lever, ropes, pulleys and counterweights. As far as I'm concerned the wheel just opens up Pandora's box to engineering. But either way I keep going on about it I'll wind up hi-jacking the thread so I'm gonna bow out and let McFan do the talking until I have another question.

If we all ignore LaVar Ball... will he go away or will he start making a bunch of noise so people pay attention to him again?

Your premise is flawed. We as a society are incapable of ignoring an ignoramus. But accepting your premise, I don't think there's any chance of him "going away". He likes the spotlight far too much for that.

Just sayin'...your old man has condoms in his barber shop. They're free. Might wanna use one.

They work. Expiration date is kinda shady...might want to upgrade.

No irony. The original inquiry was about Mr. Ball. If he had asked if I would be going away as his premise, I'd have answered the exact same way ...

i·ro·ny

[ˈīrənē]

NOUN

the expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect

Does anyone know what's up with McFan, by the way? I know that he can be a random pop in and pop back out guy, but it's been a while.

I would say that he should convert to a Clemson fan, but he's old and they've even given me 37 heart attacks in the past year. I always say that they can hardly ever win a game outright. It's last second drama 99% of the time. McFan would not survive.

Anyway, I don't do Facebook, so somebody drop him a quick hello for me and tell the old salty bastard to pop in sometime. I'm sorry to hear about his friends.

Question: Why the Hell is Gasoline priced at, say, 2.39.9/gal. Why not just make it 2.40?

I, once in my life, want to pay for one gallon, go out and pump one gallon, then go back into the place, and ask for my 0.001$ change. I want a tenth of a cent, damnit.

It's one of those marketing dealie-doos. You ask "Where can I buy gas for less than $2.40 per, and they pop up, because, technically they are under $2.40 per. But do the Kress maneuver, and you'll get it for $2.40, tjhey keep the .001. After a while, a la Superman 3 Richard Pryor system (or was that 2) it can add up to a bunch of free money.
