I think the writer is initially rumored to be the guy who wrote Revenant.

I read about that, but im concerned about it.

There's no sign on the enterprise that says "dead ****** storage".

Jokes aside, Trantino's style is such a radical departure from what star trek is, that it could end up a farce.

He would have to pull off a shocker like Mario Puzio writing Superman back in 79.

I mean, Abrams is supposed to be working on it with him so hopefully that can help him with the intricacies of the setting and whatnot. I like it because it's a ballsy move. That said, Tarantino has done a shitloads of films in a ton of different genres and they all work. Because frankly, the Abrams NuTrek **** doesn't really do it for me

I'm also concerned that Geordi may accidentally be shot in the face.

Best I could do that fits my schedule is next Sunday. I’ll be avoiding social media like the plague for the days in between.

I love the reserved seats ... I know exactly where I'm sitting and don't have to wait in anything but popcorn line.

Also since I see most of these alone don't have to worry if I have to miss a preview or 2.

Most, if not all, theaters are doing that now, standard.

Reviews I'm seeing are definitely making me NOT interested in seeing this in theatres.

Lots of spoilers in this particularly harsh review

I don't want to read spoilers, but it has a 94%. People are way too critical about Star Wars. I'm sure it's worth seeing if you enjoy the franchise.

this.

These new Star Wars movies are like the movie versions of Daft Punk's "Get Lucky". My friend asked me a few years ago when that song came out - "what's the big deal about this song, I don't get why everybody's obsessed with it" - I loved the song at the time (right when it first came out, don't hate!), and I emphatically told him "because it's just so good at being OK, it's just a normal ass, simple, catchy song that does "OK" perfectly". When you're listening to that song, you're just listening to a modern/glossy version of disco. It's not revolutionary, but it's fun for dancing and getting drunk and more dancing and getting more drunk. If you're judging that song as a classic concerto, you're doing it wrong. Same goes for Star Wars. This isn't some Kubrick or Ford Coppola masterpiece - it's a fun sci fi novella. Sit back, pretend you're 10 again, stop over thinking it, and enjoy the ride. That's what I did for TFA and I had a freaking blast. And that's what I'll be doing for TLJ

Yep. If you don't like it, go watch something with subtitles with your wife.

More than all of that, what's with this "things have to be phenomenal and ground breaking to be considered worthwhile" attitude some people seem to have. Not everything has to be a masterpiece to be considered good.

I think the problem in this particular instance is that, despite Lucas trying his best to destroy it with the prequels, Star Wars is still considered a "Masterpiece Franchise". Nobody gives a **** if "Transformers 23" isn't awesome.

I enjoy pot. Twain was an alcoholic. Sagan smoked a bit of pot, etc. And while I can't lay claim to achievements even a fraction as significant as the most unimportant of their own, I can definitively say that I am not dumb.
