Episode 7: Great episode! They took us deeper into the life of Negan and just how demented he is. Some stuff is gonna go down in the finale.

Rick is liable to become Bad Rick again when he sees Negan with Judith.

When I saw him pick Judith up, I was like "Oh no, oh no, oh no. He gonna die."

Read that's he's signed on for season 8 already, so Negan isn't going anywhere anytime soon..

But yeah, the switch is gonna flip in Rick's cranium real soon..and I can't wait to see it..

Very interesting mid-season finale...

Some parts I really liked which took the show back to its core...(game of pool anyone? )

And I'm all ****ing aboard Rick drawing the line and deciding enough is enough...these bastards are gonna die..

But did/does anyone else feel like the revelation was rushed? Just my 2cents...

It did feel a little rushed, but it didn't really bother me. I loved the episode. The whole pace felt better compared to recent episodes.

Eh...I get the King's reluctance to get involved...just like the actor said on the after show, these folks show up whom he's never met, they want to fight the Saviors, the kingdom has relative peace with the them (the Saviors) and aren't getting bitch slapped like the other settlements...

As a whole though, pretty damn weak premiere IMO...and Morgan is really starting to piss me off...

Yep. It looked like the King's lieutenant was about to get into a shootin' match with a Savior in the preview they showed in the Talking Dead segment.

I'm trying hard to keep faith..the wife has checked out, however..

Can't count how many times she looks over and says "this is stupid" during an episode...

We quit episode 3 or 4 of this season, but still record it and I check in here to see if anything crazy happens that would buy us back in.

Doesn't look good thus far. Negan's character made my wife quit, but for me the Glenn stuff last year jumped the shark.

I believe they were talking about it in the talking dead.

After that exchange I have a feeling Richard is going to have a gun at the next meeting and take out the guy who has been bothering him. Offering himself as a catalyst to get the Kingdom into the coming battle.

I was curious if anybody else was worried about the junkyard people? Just get the feeling they will take the weapons then not get into the fight.

I'm not sure what to make of Jadis and her silent junkyard people. I wouldn't trust her anymore than I'd trust Negan.

As for the folks checking out...what is it you want to see? Unending zombie killing? Constant battles between the Saviors and other groups? Not sure what it is that the show would need to do to keep you engaged. I haven't had any issue staying engaged with this show. I'm really enjoying the story lines and anticipating how these diverse groups will come together to fight it out with The Saviors.

Mainly better writing. The show has never been something that would be featured on HBO as far as writing or depth, but last season took a massive step back. This season (beginning) was just really difficult to watch with Negan. I can't tell if the actor is just terrible or the writing, but the slow story line, the way Rick has acted, and Ezekiel were way too far over the top for me.

Another thing is the story is extremely cyclic to the point where it's exhausting. It doesn't appear that there is an end game in sight. The story line just repeats itself except replace one baddie with another and one location for another.

To each their own. I was a huge fan of TWD for a while, longer than most of my friends who left after the Governor story line, but it just doesn't work for me anymore. I was hoping for something great to bring me back in, but from everything I've read, it's more of the same.

Just watched the first three episodes of season one for the first time.

I'm interested. But wondering why they are living in tents rather than in a mansion in the countryside.

And how come the old man is fishing for parts for a beat up old RV? I would have gone for a brand new Class A, myself.

Granted the season finale is yet to come..

But overall, aside from the premiere where/when Abe and Glen got smacked like whack-a-mole, this season has been blahhhhhhh...

The build up to Rick and company's resurgence feels rushed.. Honestly, the buildup to a fight with the Governor seemed longer and more trepid...And not a ton happened otherwise...

The series used to leave the wife and I saying "WOW" after each week..Now we just kind of look at each other like "that's it?"..I give her enough of that in the bedroom..

Pretty excited for season finale next week. This season has been kinda slow since starting off with such a BANG!!
Spoiler:
(RIP Abraham and Glenn).

So from the previews and last episode we know Neegan suspects Rick is up to something so Neegan and the Saviors will make there way to Alexandria to pay Rick a visit. Rick and crew are armed and ready to assault... But what happens???

The way things have gone...

Negan's trip to Alexandria will take FOREVER allowing for multiple flashbacks of what Sasha did when she got in their compound, intense interrogation scenes with Dwight/Rick (a ton of staring interrupted by Daryl trying to kill Dwight once in awhile) and some BS between Carl and his little piece of ass..Oh! A pop in (or 2) with Prego Maggie..

Then, with 8 minutes left in the episode Negan will try to bust into Alexandria, Rick and company won't let him in..Stand off, guns drawn both sides..Fade to black, gunshots and screaming heard..

See ya in October..
