I have to admit that the concept of the show still appeals to me but I got burnt out. Was kind of mailing it in until the episode where Negan and the preacher guy got locked in the building together. Then just stopped. Not necessary because of that episode but because I would have the show on and not pay attention. Was happening that season. Also my cable company has made it even harder to watch.

Weird...that's the EXACT episode I quit on too....and for the same reasons...

Besides, my wife bowed out (after the "trash people" came about)....so watching by myself sucked anyway...

To be honest, this series is not going on indefinitely so I think that in the next few years it will wrap up. Actors are starting to look to move on from a very good and long ride. So at this point, I'm committed to see it to the end.

The show could go on but it won't. A season or so ago I explained that the writing was following the natural progression in the history of homosapiens; from instinctual survival--hunter gathers--tribal--empires, etc. Now we have crossed over to establishing a moral code/rule of law, which is clearly a derivative of the Social Contract since they have brought up a charter.

For those that watched the episode, what this you think of Maggie's actions and Daryl's comments? I think Maggie was wrong on how she did what she did. She made herself judge, jury and executioner at a time not too far removed where people feared the retaliation of a dictator, Morgan. The dude should have been tried by his peers and execution should have been clearly agreed upon as the correct punishment. Daryl, in my opinion is just reverting back--or really just has never been comfortable with--being part of normal society. He sees the changes. He sees the very selective group, he was okay being a part of, turn into something his social deficiencies cannot cope with.

Again, I recommend this season even though it is small episode sample size :D

Go back in this thread and you can see I've been a fan of the books & program since jump. The show runners almost lost me last season by dragging out the "war" for close to a year.

However; I agree with paco. The show is taking a different & interesting direction this season.

Ditto.

However, I still wish they had just ****ing killed Negan last season and been done with it. That he's still "hanging around" is bothersome. 10 to 1 they let him get loose to cause havoc again. They might truly lose me if that happens and they don't kill him immediately. Immediately as in the very episode he gets loose.

Going to be predictable but imagine Rick will want or be forced to team up with Negan to fight the Whisperers.

Great casting for Beta!!!

He's going to join Laurie, Coral & Shane for sure. But feel ending was a bit of misdirection. No way he goes out in such a lame way.

Previews make it look like he's going to go out by leading the walker horde away from the group, across the bridge he was building. Probably going to destroy the bridge after he gets them across. Then he'll just fade away and die somewhere alone.

That is just annoying. I believe there was a helicopter in the 1st or 2nd episode when Rick entered Atlanta, before he met the group. Pretty sure there was also a sighting in season 3 or 4 with the Governor and a few more since then.

Do something with it or stop trying to be 'Lost'. Just lazy writing.

The herd that went to Herschel's farm followed a helicopter at first then turned off when they herd the gunshot.

The trailer for the next episode looks like a complete dream sequence.

The parts with the gazillion dead walkers lying around Rick is very likely some sort of dream sequence. But him leading walkers across the bridge doesn't seem to be.

Great half season. So it looks like we are looking at a 9 year time jump coming up. 11/12 year old "little kickass" was awesome. I'm pumped for the return of the season. So nine years and no Rick. I hope we get more info on what happened.

Not sure what is more unbelievable between Daryl sniping zombies on that bridge with a crossbow or Judith sniping zombies with Rick's revolver.

Some folks don't handle fiction very well and should just stick to **** like 007 movies. Oh...wait...never mind. Just stick to documentaries.

I watched Talking Dead and it's supposed to be 6 years after Rick. Regardless, I agree with you. It was a great half season and I'm glad I stuck with it. Did you see the previews of the 3 upcoming episodes?

A couple things...
Spoiler:
Looks like Negan is still around but changed into a good guy.
The walkers can communicate with each other. Someone in the previews mentioned they are evolving.

Also from the Talking Dead show... While Andy Lincoln will no longer be in TWD, apparently they're working on a bunch of other stuff. Such as feature films (on AMC of course) where he will still be cast as Rick Grimes. The settings can and will be set in the past, present and future of the current TV show. We will see how some other areas are doing in the apocalypse, including other areas of the world.

Could be some fun stuff ahead for sure.

Wrong thread but appreciate your recommendation.

As far as the episode; it would have been more impactful if Rick would have died.

Judith putting on the Stetson was awesome. Thinking she could handle that Colt Python is just plain dumb.

Thinking Walkers are actually the Whisperers, not actually the dead.

Speaking on your spoiler tag comment....I do now remember the word
Spoiler:
evolving
being used. I was a little drunk...still...after the Bucs game lol.

As far 6 year later....how old was Judith? I thought she was only like 3, but I'm wrong often. She seemed anywhere from 11-13 in the scenes.

I stopped recording The Talking Dead inadvertently and regret it. I will fix that before next season. I think this half season has brought back viewers. AMC made it a point to show that The Walking Dead was the #1 show for something or another.
