You know, since we're just calling bullshit on stuff.

Bullshit, I say. :linedance:

I did define it. And why do you need only one reason to do something? Isn’t having multiple reasons for doing something better?

Anyways, seems like you guys have nothing left to add.

You are ridiculous.

Those laws apply to non bird animals sold en masse. There are absolutely places you can get chickens or other birds...or other animals on a small scale legally in the US without a slaughterhouse.

I read this info on some meat advocates website about how the laws are too strict for slaughters, perhaps they are wrong, but in regards to pigs and cows I believe the info is correct.

I am guessing the regulations they spoke about have some kind of farm size regulations. Maybe also what kind of activities. These are farms selling direct to the end user on such small individual quantities. Rather than trying to supply some grocery store, restaurants, or chain of either. On these small scales they can probably butcher the animal a lot faster than if they had to send it off to some slaughterhouse, wait for its time in line, and get it back. Not to mention the cost loss of having to pay this third party.

Can certainly see a farm that is trying to grow and supply some local businesses could be having trouble once they hit the threshold of some of these laws. That business would have costs that smaller ones can just ignore while larger ones have enough scale to handle it better.

RBF, i have a couple of questions for you.
The first is: When did you become a Vegan?
The second is: Don't know if this was you or some one else, are you the one that will fix BBQ meat for your wife and kids?

Saw some post on Facebook from an unreliable source that some of you can debunk for me if can be.

Said something about plant based meat having differing chemicals from paint, and **** like that in it. Any truth?

So he responds to far leaning articles with equally far leaning articles, just going the other way.

Let's see..... According to the Impossible Burger's own website, here's what those fine folks do: They take the roots of soy plants and extract out the heme molecules. Those are then inserted into a genetically engineered yeast, a proprietary creation of theirs, and allow it to ferment "similar to how the Belgians make beer." Well, if you put it that way....

How about Chick'n? That's the most popular brand of meatless chicken "breasts" sold in the U.S. Well.... that's actually a fungus of sorts, but not really. According to their USDA application - and this is the actual quote from that application - they use "the processed cellular mass that is obtained from the filamentous fungus Fusarium venenatum strain PTA-2684," and then add egg whites to it.

Yummy! And so natural!

I just picked up a FVS-PTA-2684 shoulder that I'm going to throw in my new smoker. I can't wait to see how it comes out!

They add egg whites? Link?

Also everything I responded with was correct. That “ad” was funded by the meat industry.

This is what's funny.... Do you really operate under the belief that there is no big meatless industry? That there are no great big don't-give-a-shit profit-making industries hopping on the "plant based" train and cashing in right now?

And then bash NYBF for buying local meat from a farmer/butcher who does it all himself.....
