I don't mean a new staff next year, I'm talking about the new staff THIS year. Getting, "Hey, take a shot with this former #1 overall pick who you really like. And don't worry if it fails, there's a slew of options next year" is about a good of a situation as Arians could've asked for. As opposed to "We got nothing, go find us a QB" or "We drafted this guy really high recently, you're stuck with him for at least three more years".

I think Licht and Arians are tied together. Licht had a big hand in bringing Arians in, so I don't see a scenario unfolding where we then retain Arians and get rid of Licht.

We're looking at a 2-year window for success with Licht, Arians, and Jameis. No matter our record next year, Licht and Arians will be retained and Jameis will be franchised. Then say we go 4-12 the following year. Licht is fired. Arians is fired or retires. Jameis is allowed to hit the market.
