If we had the first pick we'd pick Tua.

If we earn the first pick, plan around Arians, Winston and Licht being gone.

Looking at this roster and this extremely overrated coaching staff, it's hard not to think we're likely in the running for the first overall pick next year. Guess it's a good year for a #1 pick though as this draft has multiple really good QB prospects in Tua, Herbert, and Fromm.

Either way, I think it's extremely likely we're picking a QB, likely in the top 5, next draft. Maybe we eck out extra win that drops us to 3rd overall, and we pick........Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon.

I hate to say that I'm holding out hope for a huge Winston revival but....
If it fails next year is a fantastic draft to select a QB. About as good of a situation for a new HC to ask for.

There's slim to no chance we have a new coaching staff next year.

I think it's unlikely but I do think there's a way it could play out where Arians retires again.

If that happens one would have to imagine Jameis mortared and Licht is fired.

Which is more likely than not, according to Vegas.

This.

Unless Arians has further health issues, of course.

Best/Worst case, though: we do so well on either side of the ball that our assistants get a HC look.

I don't mean a new staff next year, I'm talking about the new staff THIS year. Getting, "Hey, take a shot with this former #1 overall pick who you really like. And don't worry if it fails, there's a slew of options next year" is about a good of a situation as Arians could've asked for. As opposed to "We got nothing, go find us a QB" or "We drafted this guy really high recently, you're stuck with him for at least three more years".

If we’re picking a CB in the first round next year there’s going to be some serious questions going around this joint.

Gotta see the way the board falls, he’s a helluva athlete, drafting for need gets you fired, something something

Raekwon Davis is the Platonic Ideal of a Todd Bowles defensive end. 6'7 306, smart, and mean. I think either he or Quinnen Williams is a Buc right now if he'd declared.

Unfortunately, if we're picking high enough to get him in 2020, it means we need a QB because Winston failed (again.)

If this coaching staff is fired after ONE year, then we are the 80's Yucks. Even more so than we are now. A revolving door at HC and the FO is a sure fire recipe for success.

I don't think there's any way Arians gets fired. His health might catch up with him. But even if we go 0-16, he'll most likely get a 2nd year.

Licht, though? In this scenario, he'll have been here seven years and posted six last place finishes. Frankly, it's vaguely amazing he's survived five out of six. But I guess you get a pass when you're the kind of GM who uses more draft capital on kickers than offensive linemen over the last four years.

I believe the rumors that he never had health problems. That he left the Cardinals because they were going to fire members of his staff.

That could be completely true, but he's still 66 and fatter than the average Comic Con attendee. Health problems are going to be a real factor at some point.

I think Licht and Arians are tied together. Licht had a big hand in bringing Arians in, so I don't see a scenario unfolding where we then retain Arians and get rid of Licht.

We're looking at a 2-year window for success with Licht, Arians, and Jameis. No matter our record next year, Licht and Arians will be retained and Jameis will be franchised. Then say we go 4-12 the following year. Licht is fired. Arians is fired or retires. Jameis is allowed to hit the market.

No one can predict the Glazers but I don’t think there’s any way that Jameis and Licht survive a terrible year.
