Sounds like a game-time deal. Like I said, I think the other kid while be fine. He's not the athlete Martinez is, but he's a better passer.

I’m guessing the Zips would have wanted to play if they could. Even if they reschedule against another opponent later the payday will be much much smaller

Here's the real story:

Both teams were ready to play Sunday morning, supposedly.

The Zips called around town and basically would have had to spread out 50 hotel rooms between about 25 hotels. I used to work in the hotel business so I have zero trouble believing this - game weekends in Lincoln are sold out by May. The Zips didn't want to have to do that to their team, so they took their money and went home.

Incidentally, I had to drive in that storm. Not even far. It was unbelievable for Nebraska. Haven't seen anything like it since I lived in Florida.

Michigan vs Nebraska in six days.

Nebraska will keep it within seven points in the first half, but Michigan will pull away in the second.

I'm pretty optimistic about things, despite evidence to the contrary. We're doing a ton of fundamental stuff wrong right now, but it's correctable stuff. You can see the parts not jelled yet, but getting there. Michigan probably wins this game at home...but I think it'll be close.

Frost’s first year at UCF wasn’t anything great (6-7 with a bowl game loss to arkansas state). He’ll get things turned around

That was a great year considering they were winless the year prior.

i think frost will be ok if they give him time. big 10 west sucks, and let's be honest, it isn't going to get any better. if he goes with an open offense like he has in the past, he should beat everyone every year apart from Wisc. Road games at Iowa would be sort of tough too. so maybe he can win the division 30 or 40% of the time. i'm guessing most NEB fans would take that.

Everyone not named Ohio State. But even they have been embarrassing off the field this season.

Don't mind me in here, I'm an admitted hater when it comes to B1G football. I was raised that way and never decided to grow out of it. :birdiedoublered:

i was being silly but in all honestly, michigan's last 10 years has hurt the conference...they were always #1 or #2 in the conference and a perennial top 10 team nationally. they aren't anymore. It hurts the big 10. ohio state did the same thing to the conference in the 80's under earl bruce

plus last bowl year every big 10 team won their bowl game EXCEPT michigan!!!! So were were 7 - Michigan in bowl games

It all went downhill after I left :)

But seriously, after Coach Carr hung up the clipboard we've been behind the curve. Harbaugh is narrowing the gap but we aren't there yet.

PSU @ Illinois
Nebraska @ Michigan
B.C. @ Purdue
Buffalo @ Rutgers
Minn @ Maryland
Tulane @ Ohio State
Mich State @ Indiana
Wisconsin @ Iowa

A few good games this week

For the close games, I think Buffalo beats Rutgers, Indiana beats MSU, MInn beats Maryland and Wisc beats Iowa (all the other games are 10 pt+ spreads)

Atleast the B1G should only lose to themselves this week unless BC or Buffalo can pull an upset, but is it really an upset if you beat a B1G team not named Ohio State these days??

I guess that is progress none the less... :P :P :P

Michigan up 30-0 already.

So much for Nebraska keeping it close in the first half.

MJW, that corner at least is flashing. Bootle is pretty good.

I have been watching, playing, and coaching football for 25 years, and I've never seen a play where a quarterback attempted a second forward pass from their own end zone, the end result being a safety.

It's the little things that make watching a blowout worthwhile.
