That would be pretty cool to have. Unfortunately, word is we aren't that interested.

I think I heard it from PR, a couple of other people who seem to have sources. It could be bs for all that we know. PR called it last year, though. So, they're at least somewhat reliable.

Bucs apparently met with Minkah. So, there's that. I bet Minkah has a personality that can win you over in an interview. At least from the way Saban spoke about him.

If we draft Minkah I could get behind it because obviously it would mean we have a plan for him... I just don't think we will draft him.

I thought we consistently got our choice of the better players in the draft, maybe we better start picking after Dallas.

I didnt read how many players were for that wonderful pick. Jerry's Dallas would have gotten a 3rd rounder for each one of them...

There is a defined formula for comp picks and easy to figure out long before they are officially awarded. So no, Jerry wouldn't have gotten anything different with the same set of moves.

News of the day seems to be TB with a legit shot at Barkely at 7.According to some team officials they could see it happening. Not a scenario I've put much thought into because even though he was my " surprise slide" on draft day a month or so ago in another discussion.I thought it be a long shot indeed. What a dynamic it would bring though.

Here's a question I ask of you guys? If we trade out , and got two firsts would you be upset if we took two corners ? Ex Alexander, Hughes?Just a thought.Or what about if we don't and went James and Hughes/Oliver in rd 2?

I could see both options and I hope the acclimation process is very quick.

I have warmed up to the idea a smidgeon, my biggest fear however is he has this wow moment that makes him understand he is always going to get hit (most of the time).

If the Bucs totally surprised everyone (I'm guessing it would be a surprise, seeing as how I have not seen a single link between him and the Bucs--correct me if I'm wrong) and selected Tremaine Edmunds at #7, would everyone be upset?

-6-5, 253 lbs., with the frame to add on some more weight as a 4-3 DE
-4.54 40-yard dash
-83"(!) arm span, according to Gil Brandt
-Turning 20 on May 2nd; not a mistake, he's only 19 years old as of this post

By all accounts he has potential through the roof, but I see his potential referred to in the context of a 3-4 OLB and don't see him mentioned a whole lot as a 4-3 DE since that was not his position at VT.

Would Edmunds, potential and all, be too much of a project for Koetter and Licht to take a chance on at 7 with their jobs seemingly on-the-line for 2018? Would you be upset if they went with him?

I wouldn't be upset, but I would be perplexed. He doesn't fit our team or needs at all.

I dont think Edmumds is a good fit either. He's a 3-4 OLB and we are not running much 34 this year.

I still favor James over Minkah, but personally I view both of them as the worst case scenario. Ideally, one of the big three is there...preferable one of the linemen. Failing that, a QB will be there and I'd rather see us get a kings ransom in picks then take James or Fitz. Failing that, we take one the big name DBs and make a solid pick, but not the walk off homerun the first two options represent.

Like with Minkah, I would get behind it since we obviously would have a plan for him, but I just don't see us going that direction.

My Freeman jersey is currently in the back corner of my closet with duct tape over the name place and MRSA written in sharpie. Been there for a couple years...

That last Schiano year was an asskicker.

There could probably be an entire thread dedicated to "What kind of **** treatment did YOU give to your Freeman jersey".

I never bought a Freeman Jersey, thank God. I did buy a Winston gold collection jersey and I have an ancient Alstott jersey.

No Freeman here either, the one I regret getting was a Bowers jersey. Really wanted him to be a stud.

I had a stitched on Freeman Jersey. After that debacle I swore off buying jerseys all together (though I did win a current Lavonte one) unless they’re signed memorabilia to go in the mancave. I stick with the Nike dri fit polos and T shirts, usually get one of each at the beginning of every year now to keep it fresh.

Perhaps, but this also is very likely to be the best DL we've had since Sapp and Rice were here. With as bad as our pass rush has been, even a middle of the road performance could have a transformative effect on the defense as a whole, not to mention that everyone we signed is a plus run defender. IMO money well spent.

If the offense starts clicking this year and getting leads, the effect will be even more pronounced.

Sapp and Rice played together for 3 years and it produced a 26 and 20 record for the regular season. Even then - I wanted more.
