Josh Rosen: No Thanks Cleveland!

Postby Phantom Phenom » Sun Dec 24, 2017 10:25 am

Josh Rosen prefers Giants over Browns, would hesitate to enter draft if Cleveland commits to him

http://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2018/story ... ommits-him

If Rosen to stay at UCLA for senior year

Top 5 QB available

Sam Darnold, USC.
Josh Allen, Wyoming.
Mason Rudolph, Oklahoma State.
Baker Mayfield Oklahoma
Luke Falk, Washington State.

Hey Josh, more than likely Cleveland will be in the position next year to pick you also.

Normally I'd think this was bushleague, but the Browns really are a deathwish for any QB.

The Browns are such a terrible franchise I think any QB would bust there.

Well...he is entitled in a sense

He is under no obligation to play for the Browns... Even if they draft him

The lack of novelty makes it no less bush league.

I wouldn’t want to go work for a dysfunctional company when there are several other companies willing to employ me, either.

We are on the short list of teams that fit your description. Players should continually refuse to play here.

By the time Cleveland "committed" to him, it would be far too late to return to UCLA. He'd have to hope they'd be willing to trade him, a la the Chargers and Eli. Otherwise, he's sitting out a year.

It's worth noting that this might not be a bad thing for the Browns, even if it's true. The Chargers built one of the best teams of the 2000s on the back of the Eli/Rivers trade. They could put the #1 overall pick up for sale, move back a few spots, still land Darnold or Allen, and probably come away with a solid haul for the trouble - at least a 2019 #1.

I’ve got no issue with this guy or any guy saying he would rather not have to go to Cleveland or any other team. Every single one of us in his shoes would have a preference where to go / where not to go. This kid has the balls to say what everyone is thinking

We also can offer great weather and low taxes, two things that are very important to most players.

Sam Rosen is his father, who lives and works in NY and is a Giants guy. He did preseason games for them and is a Rangers announcer. So obviously Josh Rosen wants to go to the Giants. It's his dream team.

Also, Browns drafted Kizer first round last year who I think is a starting qb in the league. You just have to put some good people around him and let him develop. Cleveland has two picks in the top 5 and one of them better be a stud WR and the other should be a dominant OL to help that offense out. With Gordon coming back next year full-time, if you put another star WR on the other side you can really help that offense out.

Kizer is horrible. Did you see this weeks game and his INT in the end zone? He makes horrible decisions all the time. I’ve watched him play all year, never once as he struck me as someone who is solid but just needs time. He is not ready now nor will he be next year. At best he is a bench project IMO

Browns need a QB with #1 unless they break the bank for Cousins

If Cleveland doesn't take a quarterback AGAIN, those fans just may burn the damn city to the ground..

Rosen/Darnold/Allen/Mayfield..you're sitting at #1, do your homework and take the guy you love/like the best...live with the results..

They trade back from #1, select Barkely, Sutton and some OL to strengthen the team yadda yadda etc..someone is getting killed, no it's ands or buts about it..

So both Rosen and Darnold are supposedly giving the Browns the cold shoulder. Would be interesting if the Browns reached for an Allen or Mayfield.
