@RandyMcIlvoy
Sources w/knowledge of TAMU search process tell me Jimbo-Fisher has a deal to be next Head Coach @AggieFootball .Fisher will coach 1 final game at FSU but not Bowl game should they become eligible. I'm told his TAMU contract will be at least 5 yrs/7.5 million per year. @KPRC2

That's only if he's fired. He has a 7 million dollar buyout if he leaves for another team.

edit: That's lower than Iowa State's coach.

I read the same thing on Twitter, but I don't think that's right...

Thought the $40mill buyout was essentially a poison pill for both sides..

Could be wrong..

Guess we’ll have to wait and see if this is true report because just heard he turned A&M down. So who knows.

I got it from a Sports Illustrated article when he signed his contract. I've found similar references on tomahawknation.com, 247sports, and CBSsports. Unless they are all quoting a similar source, they all say something like :

There are a lot of factors at play, so let's get a few things out in the open. Fisher's buyout if he were to be fired is just north of $39.3 million, per USA Today's coaching salary database -- but that falls to, at most, about $7 million if he leaves. The exact number is dependent on the job status of his assistants. The point is he has tremendous job security if things go wrong and some wiggle room if he wants out.

I don't think the buyout is going to be a huge factor, while 7 million is a lot (many are around 4.5) it's not near the top in the nation. Texas A&M has a ton of money.

Also, 9/10 the early reports are false. That's why I don't think the Frost or this report is true.

On behalf of the University of Miami, I would like to say...LET HIM LEAVE!

He's clearly a poor recruiter and a bum.

Who knows...I hear Skip Holtz can be had for the right price.

More reports starting to swirl in the last half hour the deal is done. We’ll have to wait and see. Still haven’t heard anyone from ESPN or any of the big networks say anything other than A&M is going to make a push for him, so until then, this is still in the rumor stage.

At the very least it appears that the offer has been made and that FSU has the opportunity to counter which seems unlikely to any great degree.

I sure hope we don't let him go. It was fucked up enough the way they booted Bowden out.

**** no we shouldn't counter...we just gave him a huge extension...

And let's not act like the last 3 seasons haven't been huge disappointments..

We are gonna go 6-6 and make a bowl because we rescheduled ULM and beat up on Delaware State..

He may not deserve or need to go after this season, but he damn well doesn't deserve a raise...

It seems like every year rumors swirl about how he's definitely leaving for some SEC school. Not surprised it was more bullshit this year.

True.

Last year, I believe it was LSU...right?

FSU made the right call.

Coaches who bring in top 10 recruiting classes EVERY YEAR, don't grow on ****ing trees. He got dealt a **** hand THIS YEAR. That's no reflection on the over-all health of the program (In general).

You hear 7 million per but to Fisher that constitutes about a 25 percent raise. Fisher will have a better chance at winning another NC at FSU than A&M and he’s already won one at FSU so I don’t think job security down the road will be safer with the change.

He already makes a ton of money.

What I've seen online would not indicate that Fisher has been confirmed as staying at FSU at this point.

They have stopped recruiting now for a month or more. At least not taking visits. Hearing they are getting tired of the game where every offseason he flirts with other jobs to get something else out of the college and boosters.

BTW, what is up with FSU team members killing pet turtles and trashing dorms/frats up there?

I too have read that Taggert is our main target if Jimbo decides to jump..

Word on the street is that he (Taggert) has already discussed the potential situation with Phil Knight...

Don't know exactly how I'd feel if he was our new HC...I go back and forth like a bipolar character on shameless..and I'm not sure if my excitement or lack there of is due to the annual Jimbo drama and/or abysmal season we've had..

Anybody else have any thoughts on Taggert? Maybe some USF guys who know more about him?

First, four-star safety Houston Griffith announced on Twitter that he was reopening his commitment. Then, four-star safety Israel Mukuamu announced he was doing the same. While Griffith did not list a reason for his decision, Mukuamu said it was a direct result of the "uncertainties about the future of the coaching staff."

Later Wednesday, four-star OL commit Verdis Brown also announced he was decommitting.

These decommitments come just days after elite 2019 offensive lineman Wanya Morris announced he was backing out of his pledge to the Seminoles.

FSU is awaiting word from Fisher on whether he is going to accept an offer to become head coach at Texas A&M. That offer is expected to become official following a Board of Regents meeting on Thursday.

The coaches have not been having visits nor talking to recruits in a while there. Several recruits are mentioning about how they are worried that the coaches aren't taking their calls anymore nor returning them. This could end up being like when Shannon left Miami with a class of 5 recruits and still told all of them to go somewhere else. Hey, I hear Randy Shannon is available, he has some experience in UM and UF. You guys should get him.
