That certainly seems the case. The UM offense is pretty anemic

Apparently we are putting a national champion banner in the stadium. Even as a UCF alumnus, I think this is stupid. We didn’t win a national championship.

Now if you wanna raise a banner for a perfect season, then cool. But this just seems petty to me.

Yep....a bowl banner or undefeated banner is cool. So are the coaches’ bonuses.

The national championship banner is stupid and Mickey Mouse schoolish

In case you weren't aware, the Trojans didn't plan in the NCG in 2003 (there was one, they didn't get invited).

Those I suppose, being in LA, there is a Disney connection between the two schools...

Also, plenty of the 'big boys' claim titles based on one of the many current and historical pollsters. And one of the NCAA recognized selector has UCF as number 1...http://prwolfe.bol.ucla.edu/cfootball/ratings.htm#first

If it's good enough for Alabama, Texas A&M and USC... what's the problem?

They didn't name themselves National Champions. The AP did.

So you're good with UCF getting the banner if they keep their number 1 ranking in the Peter Wolfe system? It's an accredited national championship selector according to the NCAA after all.

I honestly dont care. UCF can do whatever they want.

It's certainly less bothersome than watching an FSU home game

They made a resume to possibly get invited into a P5. Then see what happens when they play a real schedule. One win is one win. Try a whole season.

UCF would have won the Big 12 this year. They would have smoked Oklahoma.

I think their best shot winning a conference this year would be the PAC 10, then Big XII...I think if they drew the right home/away they could have won either conference. Don’t think they would have been undefeated though

What you are saying is that it's impossible for anyone from less renowned conference to be the best team in the country. Are you telling me that if UCF had been given one of the tourney spots they couldn't have won because of their conference?

No, I'm saying that they wouldn't have been undefeated and thus made the tourney if playing in a different conference.

While I agree that they likely drop at least a game or two playing in P5 conference, you don't even have to win your division to win the championship if you play in the P5. So there's that.
