That's an explosion? I'd be fairly pleased, especially with Devin Bush in the fourth. That's practically highway robbery.

Homer.... ;)

The "explosion" would be Stidham (obviously) in round 2....

I don't like the pick..not because of the position (QB) but because of the player....

And we need to take another RB...a bruiser with just enough wiggle/speed....been pounding the table for that kinda guy for years now...I'd still love us to land LJ Scott...

Not really a fan of any of the QBs in this year's draft yet, but I wanted a QB high for the spicy take. Was aiming for the Dot replacement...but holy **** is the drafting weird in difficult mode. Teams were taking like 4th round rated OTs at the end of the first... Oh, and Miami drafted 3 QBs.

Your Picks:

Round 3 Pick 12: Benzschawel, Beau, OG, Wisconsin (B+)
Round 4 Pick 13: Deiter, Michael, OT, Wisconsin (A+)
Round 5 Pick 13: Jackson, JC, CB, Maryland (A)
Round 6 Pick 13: Crump, Koron, OLB, Arizona State (A+)

Got a C- overall. Honestly, didn’t know anyone past round 3.

That is an OUTSTANDING draft. (but I'm not sold on Finley)

Koron Crump is the only name I don't know off the top of my head.

Pick a team like KC or the Rams, then let the sim do your picks for the Bucs.

If you went Guard instead of saftey in the 4th, I'd be more excited.

Solid draft tho

Haha I was actually looking for one but the board didn’t fall kindly for it. Then I had my eye on Finley and he went just before my pick.

Re: Draft Simulator

Postby Cheb » Thu Dec 06, 2018 1:44 pm

It's that time of year again!

Firstpick:

Round 1 Pick 12: Gary, Rashan, DE, Michigan (A-). Toolsy defensive lineman who will test through the roof. Wish he was more productive. Will find a spot somewhere on the line, likely at defensive end as a rookie with a potential to swing inside on passing downs. Homer alert.
Round 2 Pick 12: Finley, Ryan, QB, North Carolina State (A+). Insurance in case Winston implodes again. Spins a pretty ball, passes the eyeball test. Questions are if he already at his ceiling and/or should we draft a QB this high. I could see those arguments. I could also see why he's so highly touted.
Round 3 Pick 11: Love, Bryce, RB, Stanford (A+). Last year he would have been a projected top 10 pick. He was injured this season and ran into stacked boxes all year when he was healthy. When healthy, will be a baller.
Round 4 Pick 12: Winovich, Chase, DE, Michigan (A+). Clay Matthews by any other name. Won't test well, but it doesn't matter. The dude is a baller. Homer alert, again.
Round 5 Pick 12: Fuller, Jordan, FS, Ohio State (A+). A rangy safety who is a very good tackler in open space. While this may not be the wisest pick, the board was looking a bit slim at this point. He would be a core special teamer and could be the third man at safety, behind Whitehead and Evans.
Round 6 Pick 12: Dillard, Andre, OT, Washington State (A+). Some projected him as a first-rounder at the start of the season. He is a great pass protector who offers little in the run game. He could use with some seasoning. Would still challenge for a starting spot, depending on how the offseason pans out.

Fanspeak:

Round 1 Pick 12: Jonah Williams OT, Alabama. He lets Dotson ride off into the sunset, or if Dot defies father time for another year, he immediately starts at right guard. He could also fill in at left tackle if we decide not to extend Donovan Smith. Any way you slice it, he'd make the team better. One of my dream first round selections.
Round 2 Pick 12: AJ Brown, WR, Ole Miss. This pick assumes that DeSean Jackson is gone. Brown was there for the taking so I pulled the trigger. He's basically a Godwin clone. Not sure if he has WR1 traits in the NFL, but he would be the everliving **** out of any nickle corner in the league. Great possession receiver, intriguing RAC athlete.
Round 3 Pick 11: Will Grier, QB, West Virginia. Winston insurance. Passes the eyeball test, spins a pretty ball, would thrive in a pass-wacky scheme like ours. Not a bad investment for a third round pick.
Round 4 Pick 12: Oshane Ximines, Edge, Old Dominion. Borderline first rounder, according to some. Not sure I agree with that, but he offers intriguing pass rushing traits in the fourth round. Noah Spence is a bust, so let's get another undersized edge to see if he can do better.
Round 5 Pick 12: Porter Gustin, Edge, USC West. Built like a ***damn freight train. Had seven sacks in six games prior to fracturing his ankle in October. Has the potential to be the steal of the draft.
Round 6 Pick 12: Trey Adams, OT, Washington. Surprised he was here this late. He was a preseason All-American OT coming off injury. Then in my research I saw he's returning for his last year. Oops. Consider this a mulligan.

R1 P12 - Dwayne Haskins - QB OSU — Jameis sucks. Haskins has that natural thrower thing going on. Who knows with QBs besides Belichick?
R2 P12 - Montez Sweat - EDGE MISS ST — JPP and no one else. Prototypical dimensions.
R3 P12 - Dakota Allen - TX TECH - LB.
R4 P12 - Mike Weber - RB OSU - A good version of RJ. Burner.
R5 P12 - Porter Gustin - USC EDGE/LB
R6 P12 - Felton Davis III - MSU WR - 2nd/3rd round talent who tore his Achilles on no contact play. It’s the 6th round. Take a flier on a guy with real skills and hope he recovers

A 2nd in 2018.
A 5th in 2017.
A 3rd in 2014.

And who is our starting RB? An undrafted guy. Hell, Shaun Wilson looked better than Ronald Jones this year.

I'd keep Barber, give Jones at least another year to prove himself, and work on our offensive line before spending another premium pick on a back. If you wanna take a flier on a 6th/7th or another UFA, that's fine.

I've been ignoring the linebackers because of their posted speeds but we all know that changes and then the excitement begins.
I would like our defense to become faster with talent of course.
