Cannon and dare I say Carraway look like PS players. With the presumption that Oline won't happen at all (not likely since Licht has drafted at least 1 in every draft) this isn't bad.

Cannon isn't polished by any means...but the guy is electric as hell..

I think he could be a guy whom could come in and give us some juice..comparable to what Ty Hill did for the Chiefs last year..

He may just be my later round man-crush this year...

I'd love to see a list of TEs drafted top 20 in the last 20 years. I'm going to guess it's not going to be an impressive list.

Had my number four (Cook) and number five (Hooker) prospect on the board. WAAAAHHHH. Hooker went in the second round, pick 3. Unfortunately there was a heck of a run on defenders, so I'm left beefing up this offense. All the better, the defense really came together, offense not really.

Think I found some late gems though.

Said it before and I'll say it again..I LOVE DC4...absolutely love the guy..and from everything I've heard and read, the "character concerns" and "posse" BS is just that...

The injury concerns?..they make more sense..not so much the shoulder, but that fuckin hammy seemed like it popped every other game..especially his sophomore year..

And, unless our OL has a motherfuckin epiphany over the offseason and grows some balls, Cook isn't the right RB or right kind of RB for us..

He does not possess the running style to bring a pound it out/grind it out/control the game element to our offense...he's HIGHLY dependent on the OL for that..when the Noles OL played well Cook couldn't be stopped...when they didnt, he'd have 18 carries for 30 yards and 2 for 120...

Problem is, in the NFL, those 2 home runs are gonna be MUCH tougher to come by, if at all..

Especially with our sieve up front..

I get the thought of Cook's production being dependent of the OL, but I think a lot of credit should be given in terms of what he did when he played against "the best" D's he faced. He always seemed to play at or above expectations in the big games against what many feel were the better D's/front 7s in the country. FSU's OL was suspect over the past two seasons so it's not like he was playing with a house advantage in that respect.

off the field 'issues' don't apply here. unless I'm missing something, he had one issue with a chick outside a bar that lead to nothing more than a news article and from all accounts was completely fabricated.

Think you're confusing our pass protect with our run blocking. We opened up some holes in the run game, Martin just wasn't hitting any. Quizz did a better job. Also were are getting Sweezy this year, which can only help. Main thing we need is a healthy Dotson.

Ummmm...no

And the year prior (2015) we didn't run block especially well either..

We are just used to seeing RBs hop, skip and spin out of 3 tackles before they hit the LOS..

And I'm telling you Cook isn't one of those guys..

Bored during the lull of FA aftermath, so I knocked out a quick five rounder. Must say, ridiculously pleased. All the top WRs and RBs (except McCaffrey) were gone. Sydney Jones was mighty tempting at 19, but went with Taco.

Some interesting slides led to us retooling the offense, which lets admit, we really really need.

I'd love this draft. Although I view Njoku more as a WR than a TE.

Davis dropped and I grabbed him.
Engram can be a dangerous weapon
Willis can be a pass rushing specialist with great speed.
We can work with Kpass and get him right

If Davis drops we should jump all over him. He'd run circles around Hump and give us much better insurance should ME or DJax get hurt.

Only did First 4 rounds. I found it pretty shocking that Cook went before Fournet

Had I realized the J-theme I had going, I would have gone with a different fifth rounder. Using the default Fanspeak rankings, you can get Joe Mixon even later but I think he's going in the fourth round (though I'm starting to think he might go in the third) so I picked him there.

The default Fanspeak setting.

There has been some smoke recently about Allen falling due to his own shoulder issues.

CBS had a mock that had Browns taking Myles Garrett at 1 and Allen at 12.... that's one way to bolster your DL. I'd jump all over Allen if he was there.

I did a 5 round Mock using Licht's philosophy of double dipping at positions in FA and the draft. This improves our depth at WR, DT, and S. I also picked up a C to be groomed into our long term answer there. And I'm sticking with my RB steal of the draft. I know everyone isn't a fan, but won't complain when he runs for 1,200 yards and 12 TD's

New PR mock post FA (at least the big splash)...

1st Njoku TE Miami

2nd Baker S Wash

3rd Mack RB USF

4th Reynolds WR aTm

5th Roberts TE Toledo

6th Jones DE Jackson ST

7th Gibson WR WVU

In this mock Howard was already off the board..now, I'm not the biggest Njoku fan (I think MJW drives that bus) but aside from that pick, this mock is a homerun IMO..

Talk about infusing the offense with explosive playmakers...WOW

And I LOVE Baker...excellent grab for us at S...

The only pick I liked in their mock was Baker.. probably early for Mack. And with him we are trotting out 3 scat backs. I'd like a more powerful between the tackles runner. If we had a Tay Murray type to pair with him, I'd be on board.

Used the CBS Sports BB

19: R1P19 TE O.J. HOWARD ALABAMA
50: R2P18 EDGE CARL LAWSON AUBURN
84: R3P20 G ISAAC ASIATA UTAH
126: R4P19 RB D'ONTA FOREMAN TEXAS
162: R5P18 WR JOSH REYNOLDS TEXAS A&M
204: R6P20 S XAVIER WOODS LOUISIANA TECH
237: R7P19 QB CHAD KELLY OLE MISS

I'm starting to develop a draft crush on Asiata. He's a big, strong, high motor interior O-linemen that can drive DTs off the ball while still having the feet to pass block. I know we have a 3 guards already on the roster, but if Asiata (or one of our current Guards) could move inside it would bolster our run game.

I keep seeing Lawson available in rd 2. Pass Rushers like him don't normally slide that far, so that would be a no-brainer.
