With the first pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns select...

Image

Myles Garrett - DE - Texas A&M

In recent years we've traded out of this position to stockpile draft picks. It clearly hasn't been working for us. Well, this year we are already loaded with picks. We are thrilled to be taking a blue chip player that can be a force for many years.

With the 5th pick in the draft, the Tennessee Titans select Mike Williams, WR Clemson.

We need to give Mariota a true #1WR and feel Williams has the talent to take this offense to the next level.

With the 6th pick in the 2017 NFL draft the NY Jets select Solomon Thomas DE Stanford.

This was not the position we set out to address with our first-round selection, but if we can get the top overall player on our board at the 6 slot, we will take it every time. Thank you, thank you very much.

With the 7th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft the Los Angeles Chargers select:

Jonathan Allen - Dlinemen - Alabama

Image

The Chargers are switching to the 4-3 Cover-3 base under new DC Gus Bradley and Allen will be another versatile piece along the D-line to disrupt the strong AFC West. Adding Allen to a line w/ Bosa, Liguet, and Melvin Ingram should give the Chargers one of more talented young front 4's in the NFL.

Malik Hooker, FS, Ohio State

Is there a phrase for when "no-brainer" doesn't adequately convey how obvious something is? We had Hooker as our #4 overall prospect and we're over the moon to get him here.

With the 12th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns select...

Image

O.J. Howard - TE - Alabama

We are going to need playmakers for whoever our quarterback ends up being. Doesn't get much better than a big strong fast tight end. We feel that Howard can be a dominant TE in this league and will provide extremely valuable to a young QB. He's a huge receiving mismatch for defenses to contend with.

With the 13th pick, the Arizona Cardinals select QB Mitchell Trubisky, UNC.

This will likely be Carson Palmers last season, and we're in a position to take the top QB prospect in the draft. We'll sit him for a year to learn and develop and give him the reigns in 2018.

With the 14th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft the Philadelphia Eagles select;

Cam Robinson - OT - Alabama

Image

Our HC Doug Peterson is an Andy Reid disciple so it should be no surprise to see us draft in the trenches in round 1. We were hoping for Dalvin Cook but had to readjust our strategy early. Jason Peters is 35yrs old and Robinson can be paired to Lane Johnson when Peters retires to keep the bookends of the Oline strong for our young QB Carson Wentz. With the trade for Timmy Jernigan we addressed the loss of Bennie Logan along the D-line which allowed us to focus on protecting our franchise QB long term.

With the 15th selection in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Indianapolis Colts select...

Image

Garett Bolles, OT, Utah

You only get to have a QB like Andrew Luck once in a generation (or back-to-back in the case of the Colts), so keeping him clean is the priority. Bolles was the highest rated lineman on our board and fills a need.

With the 17th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Washington Redskins select:

Corey Davis - WR - Western Michigan

Image

We have some nice pieces in Pryor, Doctson, and Crowder. But Pryor is on a one year deal, Doctson was injured all of last year, and Crowder is a slot/#2 at best. Davis is a true #1 WR and it's amazing he has fallen this far.

With the 18th pick in the draft, the Tennessee Titans select Marlon Humphrey, CB Alabama.

With our first pick dedicated to the O, we switch over to the defense to give us some DB help. Humphrey is the highest rated DB left in the draft and should start Week 1.

***TRADE***

Saints trade up to 19 and select Christian McCaffery.

Image

"McCaffery fits like a glove here. He can complement Ingram in our backfield in the Sproles/Bush role, and replace some of what Cooks gave us at WR. He will also be dynamic weapon for us in the return game."

With the 20th pick in the NFL Draft the Denver Broncos select:

David Njoku - TE - Miami

Denver really needs OT help but the run on OT's has stripped the cupboard bare. Njoku has elite athleticism, has blocking ability, and will be a great help to our young QB's.

The Detroit Lions select Haasan Reddick LB.

We thought really hard about selecting Taco Charlton here to pair with Ansah but think that Reddick is the better overall player and the perfect replacement for Levy. You pretty much got to go defense if you're Detroit and we feel Reddick is a fringe top 10 player and an unbelievable value at this point.

Our team is pretty much complete except we have no run game. This is a start. Lamp projects as a guard for us and we think/hope he has an immediate impact.

With the 24th pick in the 2017 NFL draft, the (for now) Oakland Raiders select Caleb Brantley, DT, Florida

We need help in the middle of the defense, both against the run and against the pass. We looked long and hard at all of the defenders on the board here, and decided to go with the guy who our scouts have compared favorably to Gerald McCoy and Aaron Donald. Caleb was a very strong presence in the middle of the Florida defense in college. He had an impact on the game that was not always measured by statistics. He is technically sound playing against the run, and has fantastic penetration for an interior lineman when rushing the passer. We can't help but smile at the thought of pairing him with Bruce Irvin and Khalil Mack on third-and-long.

Welcome to Oakland, Mr Brantley. Don't buy a house just yet.

WITH THE 25TH PICK IN THE 2017 NFL DRAFT THE HOUSTON TEXANS SELECT:
Deshaun Watson, Quarterback, Clemson
Image

Houston contemplated really hard in trading out, but ultimately decided to draft a proven winner. Pair him with top flight WRs and top NFL defense was enough to pull the trigger. The key in not trading out and grabbing Watson in the 1st round was to secure that 4 yr deal with that 5th year as a team option. For a QB that is a critical contract in our eyes. We have our Franchise guy for the future!

With the 29th pick in the 2017 draft, the Green Bay Packers select Tre'Davious White, Cornerback, LSU.

Image

We think he's the best cover corner in the draft. The only reason White isn't a consensus top ten pick is that he doesn't get alot of interceptions. But, this All-American had 47 starts in the SEC, and his tape is a ****ing clinic in cornerback play and technique. He can match and mirror with the best wide receivers in the country, his man coverage in particular is absurdly good. His snap-to-snap consistency is excellent. He also brings alot of value to special teams, as he was LSU's primary punt returner for three years.

Welcome to Green Bay.
