With The 31st Pick In The 2017 Draft, The NFC Champion Atlanta Falcons Select

Image

Takkarist "Tak" McKinley, Linebacker, UCLA

We had McKinley in the top fifteen in our board. As a bookend rusher with Vic Beasley, we expect the defense that helped us get to the Super Bowl to be even better next year. Maybe even good enough to hold a 25 point lead.

With the 32nd pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, your Tampa Bay Buccaneers select...

Image

Sidney Jones - CB - Washington

We had a very high grade on Sidney Jones. When we saw the opportunity to trade back, get an extra (high) pick and still be able to acquire him, we had to take it. Brent Grimes is 34. And while he played at a high level last season, and we believe he can continue that into this season, we have to plan for the future at that position. We look to our solid group of corners as a plus for drafting Jones. He will not be put in a position to be rushed back to the field. We can ease him in as he heals. We look forward to Jones and VH3 locking down our corner spots for years to come.

With the 33rd pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns select...

Image

DeShone Kizer - QB - Norte Dame

We considered going QB at 12. But we just couldn't pass up on OJ Howard. Turns out, he will end up being a very nice security valve for Kizer. We didn't expect him to be here so we are pleased to be able to take our QBotF here to start round 2. We trust that Hue Jackson will be creative enough to highlight Kizers strengths while he polishes his game.

Zay Jones, WR, East Carolina

We have our Franchise RB, and hopefully our Franchise QB. With Jones we add a tall explosive all around WR to give our young QB a big target.
His size and speed blew us away at the combine and his hands are magnificent.

With the 38th pick of 2017 NFL draft the Los Angeles Chargers select;

Budda Baker - DB - Washington

Image

The talent and value is just too good not to go b2b defense here. We lost Eric Weddle in the '16 offseason and have been looking for a playmaker at Safety since. Baker certainly fills that role and can also be used in the slot at times. Looking at the tape it's hard not to love Budda Baker, he plays much bigger and more physical than his listed size in addition to displaying great instincts and play-making ability in both the pass game and vs the run.

The Chargers haven't been known for defense is a long time, but that side of the played well the second half of last season w/ the emergence of Joey Bosa. Add in Jonathan Allen & Budda Baker w/ the returning cast of characters and Gus Bradley may have a sleeper Top-5 defense.

With the 39th pick in the draft the NY Jets select Zach Cunningham LB Vanderbilt.

This has definitely turned into a BPA draft for us thus far. Sure we would have loved a franchise QB, but we had no idea that with picks 6 and 39 we would land our top overall player and the top LB on our board.

Foster is definitely more physical, but we think Cunningham has a higher ceiling and is more versatile; we think he can play inside or out. He also has a fantastic broad-shouldered, long-limbed frame that can accomadate another 10-15 pounds easily. We think we got another Derrick Johnson here, another foundational player who along with Solomon will anchor our defense for years.

We also love the fact that he is the first unanimous All-American Vanderbilt has produced. Playing in the SEC, he played with inferior talent virtually every game. That won't be the case when he gets here. We might not be able to score much yet but we intend to play some defense.

***TRADE***
Washington Redskins trade #49, 114th, and 154th picks for Carolina Panthers #40 pick

With the 40th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Washington Redskins select:

Image

Gareon Conley - CB - Ohio State

The Redskins bypassed the need for a CB in round 1 to take BPA wide receiver Corey Davis. Fortunately, in such a deep CB draft class there is still elite talent available. Conley has been rising up draft boards and the Skins just couldn't stay put and risk losing him. CB is a major need, and we feel like we hit a home run here.

With The 41st Pick In The 2017 NFL Draft, The Cincinnati Bengals Select

Image

Jarrad Davis, LB, Florida

I've been doing these mocks with you guys for years and this was one of the tougher calls I've made because there were about 5 guys I loved here. I gave Davis the nod because he has all the traits necessary to become one of the best linebackers in football, and his versatility, leadership, and character all rate very high. I see both Jarrad Davis and Malik Hooker as Day-One starters and impact players.

With the 42nd pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, your Tampa Bay Buccaneers select...

Image

Joe Mixon - RB - Oklahoma

Joe Mixons ability on the field rivals Fournette for the best in this class. The Bucs met with Mixon prior to the draft. If there is anyone I trust to do a good, thorough research on a guys character, it's Licht and his staff. They've made somewhat controversial picks the last couple of years after doing their homework on Jameis and Spence. Licht always says, is he a bad guy or did he make a bad mistake? We'll see if they are proven right. What I do know, we will run the football well.

With the 43rd pick of the 2017 NFL Draft the Philadephia Eagles select;

Adoree' Jackson - CB - Southern Cal

Image

We were betting on the CB depth in this class and now we're rewarded. Our secondary was pretty bad last season and we badly need some talent at the position. Adoree' brings his elite athleticism to the position in addition to playmaking ability in special teams.

With the 44th pick in the 2017 draft, the Buffalo Bills select: JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, USC

"We were originally targeting a WR with that 10th pick in round 1, but when a player like Lattimore, who filled our biggest need, fell into our laps the plan changed. We were hoping one of Zay Jones or JuJu would make it to this pick, and the photo above scared the crap out of us when we clicked open the thread, but are thrilled to add JuJu to the Bills. We think he can add toughness to our WR corps and complement Watkins, while also giving Taylor a reliable target who can make plays after the catch."

With the 45th pick in the draft, the Arizona Cardinals select Teez Tabor, CB, Florida.

We have our QBOTF in round 1, but shift our focus to a CB opposite Patrick Peterson in round 2. Tabor' fallen a bit due to the bad testing, but he can cover with the best of them in this class.

Image

Adam Shaheen - TE - Ashland

This pick has Jason Licht written all over it. Hell, I could see him moving back up into the second to get him. He's huge. He's athletic. He can catch the ball and run you over, run past you, etc. I feel that, with his size and athleticism, we can coach him up to be a very capable blocker. He will give us the ability to run more two TE sets and adds another weapon for Jameis Winston.

With the 53rd pick in the draft the Detroit Lions select Tim Williams Edge Alabama.

We were thinking of taking him in the 1st since this is the major need we had to address in this draft. Ziggy only had 2 sacks last year due to injury and being the focal point of every blocking scheme. If opposing offenses are going to continue to double and eliminate Ansah we need another rush threat to make them pay for it.

There is no other pass rusher available at this point who can rival the pure talent this guy possesses. He's explosive, flexible, can counter, has excellent hands and a lethal spin move and his closing speed is phenomenal.

What he isn't is an every down player; we would be lucky to get a couple tackles a game from him. But we are drafting him for a specific purpose and feel he can give us 8-10 sacks right out the gate and perhaps lead our team in that statistic as a rookie.

WITH THE 54TH PICK IN THE NFL DRAFT THE Houston Texans SELECT...

Taylor Moton OT Western Michigan

We grabbed our Franchise QB in the first round, now we grab a solid Tackle to protect him. We had Taylor as the 3rd best Olinemen in this draft. We had to make a move to grab him and tried to move up earlier. Glad we didn't have to give up the farm to grab a OT that will be solid for years.

With the 56th pick in the 2017 NFL draft, the Oakland Raiders select Raekwon McMillan, Linebacker, Ohio State.

Image

You want a linebacker, Raider Nation? It'z Yours! This will bring the middle of our defense Back in the Game.

This former five-star recruit won the Butkus Award in high school and was a finalist in college. He was the leading tackler on one of the best defenses in the country for the past two years. Team captain, great leader, shows up early, stays late, loves the game of football, praiseworthy intangibles. Raekwon is tough as a Gravel Pit. He ran the third-fastest 40 yard dash among linebackers at the combine, feet buzzing like an Uzi. Raekwon happened to also be in the top five linebackers in every athletic drill. Raekwon is the most technically sound inside linebacker in this class. He doesn't make great highlight reel tackles, because he just very routinely and clinically takes the runner down. But he is excellent at getting the ball carrier on the ground; ballcarriers had better Protect Ya Neck if they know what's good for them. For defensive and linebacking purists, The Heart Gently Weeps when watching him play. Some question his athleticism and whether he's a great pass defender, but we feel that he's the CREAM of the linebacker crop. Ohio State made the decision to blitz him instead of drop him in coverage, but that's just his Method, Man. Don't worry, he's good at both.

We had a few offers to trade down, but with Raekown here. Can It All Be So Simple? Yes it can.

Needless to say, we feel this pick is a Triumph.
