With the 1st pick in the 2017 NFL draft, the Cleveland Browns select:
Image
Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M

This was a no-brainer for us, as we strongly believe Mr. Garrett has the potential to become a franchise changer.
We will continue the search for our long lost QB of the future...

With the 2nd pick in the 2017 NFL Draft the San Francisco 49ers select:

Solomon Thomas, DE, Stanford

The 1st draft pick in the John Lynch era is a Stanford guy. A damn good one at that. He can get to the QB, 1 of the many things we need in this rebuild.

With the 3rd overall selection Chicago picks Malik Hooker S Ohio State.

Chicago fans were yelling for Trubisky but the team goes for a player designed to give Stafford and AR fits.

The Jags sprint to the podium to select Jonathan Allen, DL Alabama. Pressure on the QB is a spot where we severely lacked in 2016. With the addition of Allen and the development of Fowler we expect a 2016 weakness to become a strength in 2017.

With all the tickets we will sell, maybe we can finally finish painting our helmets.

The Titans select Marshon Lattimore CB OSU, with the 5th overall pick, filling the top need on their team with the draft's top player at the position. This team is coming together rather nicely. They have a really good DL, and a potential lock-down CB will makes this a difficult defense to deal with if they plug the holes in the secondary.

I thought about Mike Williams here to give Mariota a legit 1 but felt that the secondary is so dreadful that I might even double down on CB again in the 1st round. This is the draft and situation to do something like that, unless John Ross is still there???

Mitch Trubisky, QB, North Carolina

Geno is gone, Fitzmagic was a dud, Petty is a backup, and we're still pretending that the other guy doesn't exist.

First of all, we would like to say to the commissioner and the rest of the league that while we are well aware of our history, we are now the Los Angeles Chargers, not the San Diego Chargers.

Thank you. Ahem.

With the seventh pick in the draft, the LOS ANGELES Chargers select Ryan Ramcyzk, OT, Wisconsin.

Image

I can hear the boo birds already. We want a pass rusher, we miss Eric Weedle, we need more talent in the secondary, Rivers needs more weapons. Well, everyone wants more pass rushers, Weedle ain't coming back, everyone needs better secondary play, and Rivers always needs more weapons. Cry me a river, cuz you know what? None of that matters if you can't block for ****, which has been the sad but true case with the Chargers. This especially holds true in the AFC West, where you have to block Khalil Mack and Von Miller twice a year.

Ramcyzk allowed one sack and only three pressures all year, and that is while playing through a hip injury that would have sidelined most other players. The hip is fixed now, by the way. Ram isn't a tremendous athlete, but he is a tremendous pass blocker, able to handle speed and power rushes with equal grace and skill. As a nice bonus, he is a good run blocker as well.

He buys time for Rivers to throw, he opens holes for Gordon, and he keeps pressure off of our defense. He may not walk into the league as a Pro Bowler, but we feel that the sky is the limit with him. He is only going to get better, especially when blocking Ingram and Bosa every day at practice.

We love Ryan Ramcyzk and feel he has the skills to become a franchise left tackle. We were tempted by other prospects, but feel that we are making an excellent decision.

With the 8th pick in the 2017 NFL draft, the Carolina Panthers select:

Image

Leonard Fournette

Other options were Cam Robinson/Mike Williams, but in the end Fournette was our guy all along. We have been throwing the rock far too much over the past few years, but with the pick of Fournette we believe we can get back to being a "power" football team.

With the 10th pick in the draft the Buffalo Bills select....

Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan

Image

While there are needs scattered around this team, we have decided to stop being stupid and sign one of the most underrated QBs in the NFL to a long term deal and finally get him a weapon who he can rely on. We select Davis over Williams as we believe he is the more complete, well rounded option for us and hope he can be a dependable WR for the future. We have a history of picking Clemson players (Spiller, Watkins, Lawson), but a culture change is necessary and we want to take the next step to challenge the Patriots. We will no longer be spurned by Clemson players filling our IR.

TRADE ALERT! Denver Broncos move up on exchange for the 20th overall pick, 83rd overall pick and 101st overall pick.

With the 11th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft the Denver Broncos select

Image

Cam Robinson, OT, Alabama

We need to fix the Oline. Okung experiment didn't work out at all. We dropped in running the ball and protecting our QB. Robinson has question marks but the potential is enormous. Whether it's LT, RG or RT he will help big time.

With the 12th pick in the 2017 NFL draft, the Cleveland Browns select..

Jamal Adams, S, LSU

With the selections of Garrett and Adams, we believe we drafted the two most talented defensive players. While QB is still a priority, our defense should be much better moving forward.

With the 13th pick on 2017 NFL Draft the Arizona Cardinals select:

Mike Williams - WR - Clemson

Image

1st ballot HOF WR Larry Fitzgerald is getting old and Michael Floyd was discarded last season. The Cards need to get a playmaker at WR to come in and get just that in the 6'3" 220lb Mike Williams. The Cardinals offense is getting old and Williams is building block for the future while he learns from one of the greatest in Fitzgerald.

With the 14th pick in the 2017 NFL draft the Indianapolis Colts select:

Dalvin Cook - RB - Florida State

Image

We were disappointed to see the top two Offensive Tackles already off the board since improving the O-line to protect the franchise QB Andrew Luck is the #1 priority this offseason. We also have a need for an EDGE pass rusher, but at pick 14 feel the best value is Dalvin Cook to compliment/replace Frank Gore. Cook is a dynamic runner and receiving threat out of the backfield that should fit perfect in the Colts shotgun attack.

Outside of Jimmy Smith and and aging Eric Weddle, our Defensive Backfield needs a serious talent upgrade and Jones fits what we like in our corners.

With the 18th pick the Tennessee Titans select Derek Barnett DE, Tennessee.

The plan was to again address the Secondary or add a big-time target for Mariota. But this guy was not expected to still be here and the value is far too great.

After exploring both a trade up and a trade back, the Bucs stay put at #19.

With the 19th pick in the 2017 NFL draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select:

OJ Howard - TE - Alabama

Image

Weapons for Winston or building the trenches? Howard satisfies both needs as the most complete TE in the draft class falls to the Bucs at #19. Howard is a powerful blocker which will help in the run game and an explosive receiver that was underused at Alabama. I'm a Cam Brate guy, but after him we have/had Brandon Myers/Luke Stocker/Alan Cross. Howard makes Myers and Stocker expendable (Cross should stick around as a FB/TE). Jason Licht loves players that love football Howard didn't need to show up at the Senior Bowl, but he did, was voted as the top practice player and then played the majority of the game. Good character guy that has done the blue collar work for the past few years despite the talent to be the go-to weapon.

The Saints couldn't pass up the top quarterback on their board and Drew Brees gets to experience deja vu as his team once again drafts a Philip Rivers-like QB to play behind him for a few years.

With the 24th pick in the NFL draft, the Oakland Raiders select:

Haason Reddick - LB - Temple

The Raiders love guys that have some DE/LB flexibility. Reddick is a guy that can play as a 4-3 base LB but can also rush the passer. Fluid athlete that attacks the ball. Takes over immediately for Malcom Smith.

With The 26th Pick In The 2017 NFL Draft, The Seattle Seahawks Select

Marlon Humphrey, CB, Alabama

We really wanted to address our line, but we would have been reaching to fill our biggest need while ignoring a huge value at our second biggest need - cornerback. Our lack of depth was a liability last year. Humphrey is a top ten talent who fits what we do in Seattle.

With The 27th Pick In The 2017 NFL Draft, The Kansas City Chiefs Select

Image

Deshaun Watson, Quarterback, Clemson

We are thrilled beyond words to have a shot at a guy we saw as a legit #1 overall pick quarterback. This is a great spot for Watson. He'll be under no pressure to play early as he transitions to the pro game. Alex Smith has proven he can win a lot of games, but this pick is about winning Superbowls. Watson's ceiling is much, much higher than Smith's and we look forward to seeing him grow. Andy Reid is a quarterback coach, after all, and Watson could end up his greatest accomplishment.

With the 29th pick in the draft, the Green Bay Packers select Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford.

RB is the biggest hole on the roster. With Lacy being an oft injured fat ass and having to turn a WR into a full time RB, we needed a new starter to get this offense running on full cylinders. McCaffrey represents great value and will be very dangerous catching passes from Rodgers out of the backfield and running behind this OL.
