It's weird the things you think about when you're addicted to football. I woke up at 4am and was trying to get back to sleep, "I don't think Budda Baker has been picked yet" popped in to my head randomly and I shot a trade request over at 4:18am haha. I think I have a problem.

Hey there Buffalo Bills. The Tampa Bay Bucs would like to trade up to your 44th pick. We're offering #50, #162 and #237 in exchange.

lol

and re: this whole Kamara thing - dude is a hot garbage IMO lmao idk... just the way he runs, just looks lazy!! idk, I want nothing to do with the guy and don't get what all the appeal is. can somebody clue me in? I watch tape and I see a bonafide JAG

I think he's going to be a Jamal Charles level of player in the league- though hopefully without the injuries. Great suddenness and very difficult to tackle, plus he's a tremendous receiver.

Very curious to see what he runs. He could run a 4.4 or a 4.6 and neither would surprise me. Obviously a 4.4 vaults him up.

We'll see how Kamara runs compared to his peers, but I was not overly impressed in watching him either. Based on what I've read from people he's got the ideal size (we talked about yesterday), good athleticism and running style, and barely any tread on the tires.

I just don't/haven't seen enough from him when I watch Tennessee play or in cut-ups to warrant him being a better RB than more proven guys like Fournette, Cook, Freeman, McCaffery, or even Mixon.

I watch a guy like Kareem Hunt or Jamal Williams and but Kamara more in the category as late 2nd - early day 3 type of guy.

With all the veteran FA RB available coupled with how deep this draft class is there are 10-15 guys out there that can make in impact at the postilion next season, that doesn't include the rookie sleepers that come out of nowhere every year.

Kamara to me is a natural as both a runner and a receiver. He's sudden and tough to tackle, but his most impressive trait is his vision with the ball in his hands.

I also don't get the Kamara love. He's JAG when I watch him. I don't see a high round pick, I don't see a perennial Pro Bowler. I see an average runner with good hands who will light nothing and nobody on fire. The last time I remember looking at a running back predraft and just not getting the hype at all was with Ryan Mathews, who to his credit has made a Pro Bowl and has had a decent if uninspiring career.

If he's part of a rotation, he could be okay, but I don't see this guy shouldering any loads in the near future.

Now watch him win a Superbowl with the Patriots.

To be clear, he's not an option for me at 19 unless he runs a 4.3 or something and other guys stumble, but I think he's well within the McCaffery/Foreman tier and I'd be happy with him in round 2 if we move on from Martin.

For the Bucs I probably rank the round 1/2 RBs:

Fournette
Cook
Foreman
Kamara
McCaffery

Wait a second. You put Kamara over McCaffery? A guy who is in every respect average, who has four career games with over 100 yards, over a dynamic explosive record-setting Heisman finalist who can contribute in every phase in an excellent way?

I know this board has a bias against the West Coast, but the disrespect for my boy from Stanford is ridiculous.

How the hell does/did Kamara even enter conversation as a top back? (Meaning top 5 at his position in the draft)..guy did jack ****..

Blech...he adds nothing special...JAG indeed..

I'd take the kid from South Florida over Kamara any day of the week..

Yes, different kind of player/RB, but he at least brings a skillset that has an elite level attribute to it...(speed..tons of speed)

I don hate on McCaffrey other than I don't see him as an every down back. Dude is 200 lbs dripping wet.

Definitely a talent though, and I think he has Brian Westbrook type of career.

McCaffrey has 632 career carries, more than three times that of your boy Kamara.

Kamara has never had a game with more than eighteen carries. McCaffery has had nineteen such games.

Moreover, McCaffery played at Stanford in a power-running scheme, with multiple tight ends in heavy formations running into the teeth of defenses as a part of the routine gameplan. He is very comfortable dotting the I and running it inside; he did it all the time.

Your game is weak today, friend.

I would gladly have Mcaffery here. He wouldn't be ny ideal pick at 19. But what a weapon he'd be. And we need it. Seems like a good kid, too.

Keep in mind my post was from a Bucs perspective. Both guys are weapons, but I just think Kamara has more upside as a between the tackles runner since he has more size and power. I definitely could be wrong! All 3 (Kamara, McCaffery, and Foreman) are all neck and neck IMO. It's just what you'd prefer for a fit.

Both NFL.com and ESPN.com (probably the two biggest draft resources on the web) have Kamara over McCaffery.

I watched his highlights and nothing stood out as that impressive but I think it might be because of how easy he made everything look. I don't know, hard to tell from highlights. I know a lot of the draft twitter guys are very high on him.

Glad my pick brought up a discussion  that's why I enjoy these mock drafts. Get to talk about prospects we normally don't bring up.

I think Kamara will be a better pro than he was college player. Has a lot of big play ability that I wasn't seeing from the rest of the remaining RBs. But I guess we'll see!

I don't see the big play ability with Kamara...I see a guy with average speed whom takes choppy/short steps when he runs..

He has good balance, I'll give you that...

But the big play RB's in this draft, imo, are:

Cook
McCaffrey
Mack

Meh..if so, I'm good with that...

Seriously, if each of us took an honest look back at our projections or thoughts on prospects, what would our rate of success be? 25%? 30%?

Sad thing is, we're still probably better than the so called "experts"...or we at least hang pretty close to them..

He's the prototype "back who was lightly used in college but showed flashes of the kind of brilliance that should translate well to the NFL." There are a couple of them in every draft. And the funny thing about backs is, it's almost better when they don't rack up a lot of tape in college because there's more tread on the tires. It's why I generally (though not universally) shy away from Derrick Henry types who carried the ball 800 times in college. I think a RB only has so many carries in his life. I'd rather get one like Kamara who hasn't used many of them.

And FWIW, he was right near the top of my boards for "my" Seahawks AND my Chiefs.

Interesting to see Perine go, especially ahead of his teammate Mixon. I really like Perine and think he'll be a steal as a mid-rounder, but if there's a RB run in rounds 1 and 2 that includes guys like Perine and Hunt, it could leave us gambling on a guy later on rather than landing a stud.
