Tanoh Kpassagnon would be good for us

Why or why not, and when do you see him going in the draft.

Tanoh Kpassagnon would be good for us because freak shows at DE tend to benefit football teams and we are a football team. You will know where he will go in the draft after the combine. If he blows it up I don't think you can discount 1st round.

And since combine is so important for him, I suppose his draft status could slip as well if he underperforms more so than a player like DeMarcus Walker. You certainly don't expect Walker to look ravishing in underwear but he puts out some tape so it's sorta overlooked.

But I'm sure we remember those photos of man-boobs Winston, looking great at the combine is not necessarily necessary for success.

A man that big should not be able to move that fast in a straight line; it is against the laws of nature. From a football perspective, he has very good snap anticipation and get off, especially for a dude that large. He's a bit raw; bad hands, inconsistent counter moves, bad leverage, but those can be fixed with time and coaching.

Someone will watch his film and see the next JPP. I doubt he makes it to the third, and also doubt he will end up that good.

I hope the Bucs don't draft him.

The problem seems to be that he's not good at football, according to the scouting reports I've read. I'm all for drafting a guy with freak measurables and hope to develop them, especially at a position like DE, but certainly not in the first few rounds. Most projections I've seen have him in that 120-170 draft range, though it's still February and pre-combine so who knows how that changes.

If he can do this and not even know what he is doing just imagine what he will do as he progresses and learns to be a better player. The combination of speed and power should not be overlooked.

I've seen him as a round 6 pick mostly...

I'd have no issue with us nabbing him there...

I'm thinking he will go in the 3rd round myself and if he blows up the combine he may go in the 2nd.

I've watched him and read about him, pretty much all I could find. In terms of his attributes and his rawness, he could be Ziggy Ansah or JPP. That said, I have one big, huge, glaring problem with him. The stuff I read about his demeanor - he's too nice, he might not love football, he doesn't play with an edge all the time - that scares me a ton. It would definitely keep him off my board in the first couple of rounds.

THAT SAID, he'll be a white-hot interview for teams during the process. If they come to different conclusions, I think late first is definitely possible. I think he's strictly a 4-3 defensive end. He's not gritty enough to be a five tech or flexible enough to be a 3-4 linebacker. That knocks him off half the boards right there (not ours, though.)

All I have on him is the Senior Bowl and while he did make a play in the game, the OT's in that game were pretty putrid. Rest of the time he was pretty ordinary.

I don't know if this class is stacked with great edge rushers or if the Tackles are so bad it makes the edge rushers look good. I'm inclined to think the latter.

I think the Bucs will re-sign Gholston and draft somebody giving us the combo of Ayers, Spence, Gholston, Draft Pick. Along with Jack Smith and Howard Motherfucking Jones who are coming off of injuries.

So unless somebody like Solomon Thomas or Darek Barnett slide to us at 19, I don't see DE happening very early in this draft....if at all.

If Kpassagnon goes in the first round, I will eat my Kellen Winslow Bucs jersey.

I agree with that 99%. Only thing I'd say different, is that I'm not the biggest Barnett fan. He definitely was a beast in college, but I don't see him putting up that same production in the NFL. I wouldn't feel compelled to take him at 19 at all. Wouldn't be the end of the world if we did, but I don't consider him in the same class as Solomon Thomas.

Here is what is crazy about this guy, its all raw talent. Due to the time and effort he spent on his degrees you have to know it was first and foremost. Being a football player was all secondary. Once this guy gets into a NFL conditioning program and they drill him on his fundamentals -- look out.

Its all going to be about heart and desire with this guy, he has tremendous length and if they work on his strength and get rid of some of his quirks, he is going to be a handful. If he learns some NFL moves he will be a nasty blindsider.

Note: Kpass 11 sacks without starting a single game.

I did not know this. Does it bother you that he did not start a single game for Villanova? It kinda bothers me. If he played for for Bama or OSU and recorded 11 sacks without starting a game I can see how this note of yours' might be spun as a positive piece of info. But Villanova?
