Second that. I think his size, unpolished routes, and suspect blocking make him a real possibility there. But as the saying goes it only takes one dumb team to fall in love with his underwear show.

You know what's even more intriguing? Here are Evan Engram's combine numbers.
HT: 6'3" WT: 234LBS.
ARM LENGTH: 33 1/2"
HANDS: 10"
40 YARD DASH: 4.42 SEC
BENCH PRESS: 19 REPS
VERTICAL JUMP: 36.0 INCH
BROAD JUMP: 125.0 INCH
3 CONE DRILL: 6.92 SEC
20 YARD SHUTTLE: 4.23 SEC

Now here is a mystery prospect.
HT: 6'5" WT: 231LBS.
ARM LENGTH: 35 1/8"
HANDS: 9 5/8"
40 YARD DASH: 4.53 SEC
BENCH PRESS: 12 REPS
VERTICAL JUMP: 37.0 INCH
3 CONE DRILL: 7.08 SEC
20 YARD SHUTTLE: 4.26 SEC
60 YARD SHUTTLE: 11.58 SEC

They are pretty damn similar, no? Engram a bit smaller and stronger and faster, this other guy a bit longer. Both have had their issues with drops, and both had college quarterbacks who are/were terrible people.

That mystery prospect? Mike Evans.

I will be the first to agree with the idea that Engram would be disastrous as an in-line tight end full time. Perhaps we have it twisted. Maybe he should be a full-time receiver.

I like him as a WR/TE hybrid myself, can lineup outside or as a TE in 12 personnel. Evans, Djax, Brate, Engram, Hump, would be a nice group of targets for JW.

If McCaffery hits the same at the line of scrimmage wall Doug has hit for 5 years will it hurt...

Yeah, I don't like Engram as a true TE, but he can play a Dallas Clark like role.

Joe Mixon. Just accept he's a world-class scumbag, tell him if he fucks up even once, he's gone. Then realize you're getting a really good RB prospect.

If you're making those types of ultimatums then dont bother drafting him. Because if he runs for 1600 yards and 13 TDs then gets a ticket for running a red light are you really going to cut him?

If you trust him that little, then why draft him in the first place?

You have three options with Mixon, or any other prospect with a questionable history of bad decisions.

The first two options are reasonable. After doing your research and due diligence, you either trust this guy just made some bad decisions but is ultimately a good person (Winston), or he is an unredeemable assclown who will keep screwing up while costing you a draft pick (Manziel).

That third option, where you think he's ultimately a fuckup but threaten him to be a good person, isn't good management. It will blow up in your face eventually.

I don't know where Mixon stands on that decision matrix. What I do know is choosing that third option isn't wise.

Nope... But Nano is is right in that he's already on his last chance coming into the league. Especially for anything that involves women and/or violence. I don't think a traffic violation qualifies unless it's something like ASJ's (who was also on thin ice w/ the coaching staff)

I don't know if MIxon is a 'bad guy' and the the incident in 2014 is a just the type of person he is, or if that was an isolated incident that he can spend a lifetime overcoming as an adult.

Tyreke Hill from the Chiefs had a pretty disturbing incident in college based on the police report. Much worse than MIxon's or Ray Rice. But since there was no video, he gets a chance.

I think Mixon will get drafted on day 3. I hope we do it assuming we haven't addressed RB already. There is no guarantees tied to day 3 picks and if he acts up than cut him. It's not like Licht has had much luck in rounds 5-7 since taking over.

Anyways, I trust the FO to do their due diligence w/ Mixon. If he's here than great. He's obviously a very talented prospect.

If the answer is no then those idle threats are unnecessary. A last chance is a last chance. And that rarely happens. If it did Pac Man Jones wouldn't have been drafted period.

Mixon is in the middle. By all accounts he's not a bad person, he's well liked on campus and considered "half the scumbag that Tyreek Hill was last year"

“But the guy the Chiefs drafted (Tyreek Hill), Joe Mixon isn’t half the douchebag that guy was. … You’d have to search to find people that don’t like him. Maybe the parking-lot attendant. Everyone there loves him. And I believe them.”

That's a quote from Albert Breer

However, he did a terrible unredeemable action. Maybe I should've worded it better, but you need to make it clear that he better be a changed man. Like Dread said, he's already entering the league with strikes. Another emotional outburst and he won't get another chance.

Mixon just clocked a 4.43 at his pro day. If he was at the combine and he didn't punch a girl he would be mocked in the 1st round right about now. It's feasible that he would be the 2nd back off the board without the baggage. I think he goes in the 3rd, maybe even earlier.

As far as when I'd start wanting them, this is my DE list

Kpass
Willis
Basham
Rivers
Hendrickson --------------- 3 way tie for the last three and a coin toss on the first two.

Doesn't mean much. Litch has a habit of misdirecting his attention to draft someone else. But it seems that they do want to upgrade from Brate.

Exactly...

Allowing our offense to work out of double tight formation...

Stay in base we'll pass all over your ass...

Drop into nickel or dime and we'll run it down your throat..

Oh, and then there is the PA bomb to our new toy DJax...

Have fun with dem apples opposing NFCS teams..

For sure. But make no mistake, Brate would likely be the #2 in that pairing. If it's 3rd and 9 and I'm in a 3-WR set, I'm probably having the more athletic, pass catching TE in there as well. Which will likely not be Brate. Brate can beat out guys like Stocker, not guys like Howard.
