He can, but I'm guessing this is one of those "leaving old life behind" kind of things.

Bucs don't want 10,000 Freeman jerseys to be retrofitted with masking tape.

I wonder how many people bought a Winston #5 before the draft.

Still waiting for all these great offensive lineman that protected Winston so well last year to get drafted.....

****...more UF OL have been drafted than FSU OL right now.

Cameron Erving is like the first or second center prospect in the draft, can play guard as well
Tre Jackson is a top 5 guard in the draft will likely go off the board in the 2nd round
Josue Mathias has 3rd or 4th round grade and can play just about every spot on the line
Bobby Hart is less heralded than the others but will be drafted

This always struck me as odd also. I kept hearing about how Winston had to play behind this "awful" FSU line...yet all three interior guys will be drafted in the first three rounds. There's not another line in the country that boasted three top 100 draft eligible linemen. Were the other two guys dead?

Then again, I also heard about his "awful receivers," which included a day two pick (Rashad Greene) and a tight end who should be gone by the end of the 5th, at the latest (Nick O'Leary). Oh, and the #1 wide receiver recruit in the country last year, Travis Rudolph.

I'm WAY past arguing about Winston, but the "One Man Band" narrative rang pretty hollow.

Spot on as always, MJW. LOL!! Why listen to an FSU fan that actually watches the games and understands what they're watching when you can just repeat what you read on a website?

The irony of it all....FSU has one OL drafted in the first 2 days and Oregon has two. Oh...and who drafted Greene today?

Forget the masking tape. I know a company that makes nameplates that can be sewn on.

The FACT of the matter is...FSU's o-line/offense sucked dog balls this year...and NFL teams KNEW this.

Despite what some FSU homers would like to believe.

I think that's clear to all by now (except for one "special" 'Noles" fan).

Amusing to me how the 'Canes had players more highly regarded than the Criminoles.

They have the better coach. The Hurrricanes have the better players.

Who woulda thought...

FSU homer is a buzzword. I have been called a FSU homer at some point and most of us homers never thought highly of FSU O-linemen.

Agreed,

That whole conversation in this thread about FSU's O-line was basically all the Winston-haters making claim that the FSU O-line was some dominant force in '14 due to them having so many players (potentially) drafted. Meanwhile people that actually watched FSU play (Ken, Delt, myself, among others) attempted to point out that their O-line wasn't what his haters were making them out to be and that their performance was average. Which is why Winstons' sack #s went up along w/ FSU's rushing attack went from like 20th in the nation in '13 all the way down to somewhere in the 80's in '14.

When we made such a claim we were all labeled Winston-homers. Glad to see NFL evaluators validate our claim. Outside of Cam Erving, who we all agree is stud O-lineman NO OTHER FSU offensive player was drafted before Tre Jackson in the mid 4th round.

Jose Matuis (the other OG supposedly being drafted day 2 went completely undrafted)
Bobby Hart was a 7th rounder
Karlos Williams was a 5th (same Karlos Williams that lost his starting job late in the season to TFROSH Talvin Cook)
Rashad Greene was a 5th and Nick Oleary was a 6th.

Hopefully we can put to bed the '14 FSU offense was loaded w/ talent around Jameis' narrative'

FWIW, based on draft position it could be argued that the Gators had the better O-line in '14.

Are you really claiming vindication because 80% of his line got drafted for the NFL?

That would be a pretty good O-Line for college.

Ratings down 25% from last year. If the trend keeps heading this way I'd be surprised if they didn't just get rid of the big stage production.
