Jameis has drastically better performances vs Atlanta than either the Saints or Panthers. Maybe Atlanta’s defense has just been that bad over the past 3 years?

The Falcons have been one of the luckiest teams in the league with injuries the last several years. Last year, they placed two players on IR during the season - the immortal Jack Crawford and LaRoy Reynolds. In 2016, they lost a few bottom of the roster types, with Desmond Trufant being the one notable (late in the year.) And they felt that loss, badly.

This year? They lost solid guard Andy Levitre early. They lost start safety Kiki Neal. They lost STUD linebacker Deion Jones. Playing without one of your key offensive linemen, your best safety, and your best linebacker? You feel that. I'm not saying it's the only reason they're 1-4. But they've lost 3 games by a combined 13 points.

To put it another way, if we lost Ali Marpet, Lavonte David, and Justin Evans...same diff.

You should be fine either way. Cousins is on a roll lately with Theiland, Diggs and Treadwell.

It will be a season-defining game for both teams. One to rescue any hope. The other to avoid another in the toilet season after a promising start.

this might be ugly... Atlanta will score with ease on us... and I'm not sure we can keep it up with them. you may call me a pessimist. or Bucs fan :(

my only hope is for running game to have it a go, so we can both score and control the clock. ofc, passing game have to be almost perfect. and I hope we can stop them once, and have then kick FG twice...

Help me understand how people seem to think the Falcons offense will score at will on our poor defense yet dont think our offense can score at will on their poor defense, which is worse than ours honestly?

Perhaps it could be that our starting qb hasn't played meaningful football in 9+months and is widely known to be hot and cold, don't know which Jameis you're gonna get type of player.

Maybe its because the first three games this season we had a qb who could hit players downfield with a deep ball and the qb starting for us on Sunday hasn't been able to do that this season.

Maybe people just don't believe in JW....

Me... all of the above.

Agreed. I see Winston absolutely lighting this defense up and expect a running game thats average instead of non existent. Just dont know if we can keep up. Im really really really hoping that something magical happened during the bye week and our defense plays a bit better.

I just see the Vikes getting up early and not having to sling it as much as they have been. While Jameis likely is throwing it until the last play.

Because, historically, that's the way it goes for the Bucs.

If something looks like it should totally work in our favor, it inevitably won't and will more than likely work against us(ie, playing against backup QBs, playing against a slumping/struggling Offense/Defense).

because we are Bucs and for the past 41yrs we didn't have offense that can score with some consistence? in same time, for past year and 4 games we have shown great ability in not stopping anyone.

Yea because the Falcons have had so much more success and been more fortunate in their history than the Bucs, right?

Over the last decade, their "history" shows a helluva lot more success and fortune than ours.

It doesn't matter the opponent. We've **** the bed against anyone & everyone, especially when we shouldn't.

Great to see Beau Allen back. Having him McCoy and Vea play together for once. This is McCoy’s chance to finally get rest during a game and show what he can do late in the game
