No doubt ATL will put up points. This is where we really need Jameis back though. His ability to orchestrate long drives will keep the defense off the field.

As long as fumbling Jameis doesn’t show up it should be a fun shootout of a game

Early line shows Falcons as 6.5 point favorites, that's probably low. I think they win by at least 10 or more.

I do agree there's going to be a lot of points scored, I haven't seen a total yet but it's going to be up there.

You haven't been watching the Falcons. That is not a good team in Atlanta.

That line is due to the Mike Smith factor. If they had fired him Monday, I bet it would've been lower.

Remember though: He didn't miss any tackles or didn't not rush the passer.

Oh yeah. That's right. My bad. So if they had fired him, the line would be higher than 6.5.

Absolutely. Because who's going to replace Mike Smith? Oh he didn't blow any coverages either.

They’re not bad. Their defense was hit hard by injuries. Since then they’ve given up 40 pts a game but still scored 35/game. They could easily drop 50 on us

I hope you're right. You think we beat them up there?

I know from memory though Ryan and that bunch have really humiliated us in the past.

I agree their defense has sucked but still not as bad as us. Like us they are playing well on offense, poorly on defense.

High scoring game but one I feel like they will win. Unfortunately.

I'm generally one that calls for patience with coaches, but this guy has been shown more than enough patience at this point and his defenses aren't getting any better despite bringing in what most everyone agrees are talented players. My patience has run out.

Everyone's patience has run out except Dirk Koetter's. His "what next" question is valid but my answer would be find out because it just isn't getting better with Smith in there.

Koetter asked that rhetorically Monday, one day after the Bucs suffered an embarrassing 48-10 loss to the Bears.

"We fire Mike Smith. Okay, then what would the next move be? Changing one person when we had things go wrong at all levels yesterday, as I said yesterday, we as coaches have got to coach better and that starts with me. But Mike Smith didn't miss any tackles. He didn't not rush the passer. He didn't blow any coverages. He didn't have any communication errors."

No, but the guys on the unit he runs haven't done it either. It's not bad, it's historically bad at this point.

Good coaches put players in a position to be successful. He doesn't do that, he's never done that,

Good coaches can take away things from an offense, force them to try and beat you the way you want them to......

Smith has never been able to do that.

Other than bust a few records for most wings eaten on Sunday afternoon he hasn't done much of anything.

40 points a game is bad. They are much like us honestly. High powered passing game but can't sustain long drives, have trouble running the ball, can't capitalize in the red zone and bad on defense. Some of that could change as they get back Devonta Freeman this week but this aint the same Falcons team that was in the Superbowl 2 years ago.

What a funny statement from DK, almost like he's trying to justify not doing anything to his buddy.

No, not just one guy on the defense has played bad, it's wide spread. That's why you take the one guy in charge of all of them.

And if it was one guy here or there, then maybe you talk about their individual performance.....

But this is a team effort of complete and total ineptness. They are poorly coached and unprepared. Period!!!

They are throwing the football with no one in 10 yards of the receiver. Consistently.

It's just pathetic to this point.

We know. The only person in here I've seen defend Smith is Doctor.

Doctor supporting Smith? That makes it official!

I think Doctor and his views on sexual assault is pretty consistent with his knowledge of football.

I wish I'd have saved that post of his, LOL.

Atlanta 41-31 :teeth:
