It's not. In addition 3 sacks, an INT and held the Steelers to 3-11 on 3rd down.

We really need to figure out how to get a running game. At this point, might as well activate Rojo...not like he can make it worse

Say what you will, that was a fun game to watch and had lots of positives

2-1 after 3 weeks against those teams with only a 3 pt loss....we all take it before the season starts

It wasnt horrible it was pathetic. I been watching stuff like that from the Bucs for 42 years.

That was an invitation for more Steeler fans to move down to Tampa.

All of the stupidity tonight was discouraging, missed tackles, fumbles, dropped passes, dumb interceptions. Our defense played OK in a few spurts but looked terrible overall. The fact that we let them run all over us at the end when we knew what they were doing is very disheartening.

But we did fight back and make this a close game after how hard we **** the bed in the first half. So there is plenty to build off of.

Vea woulda been nice at the end there, but ya, D didn't play bad. It was the mistakes by Godwin/Fitz that killed us.

Let's not pretend like this defense didn't make a ton of mistakes too. Lots of blame to go around. But really, Grimes is most than half of all the combined years of experience in our DB corps. Vea will hopefully add a little more juice to this DL that at times looked gassed but at times looked mean.

Hope people realize the “ defense “ only was on the field 3 times? Entire second half. The offense basically kept the defense off the field. With 2:38 and 2 timeouts we needed that “ STOP” Im a Bucs fan , not a Jameis homer or Fitzpatrick lover/hater.I knew that 2 min before half would be key and our pass D let us down.So I wouldn’t say our defense played well enough to win.It was our offense once again keeping us in it.Its just that our offense made a lot of mistakes, from drops, to fumbles, to missed blocking assignments. If the offense didn’t play a horrible half they score 40+ easily. However 27 can still win some games if the defense can display even a little dominance.

Our D got the stop. Perfect situation, 3 awful plays with crappy personnel and three potential picks by Fitz, 3 and out, and that’s game.

Would have been nice to get the second stop, but the defense had done enough by then. Offense blew it.

This guy seems to understand what he's watching.

Steelers were up and didn't need to pump 30 more on us in the 2H, why put more on film?

At the end of the 1H and last drive of the game it was crucial we stopped them, we failed on both.

How can anyone defend the worst defense in the NFL and blames an offense playing the best we've seen in the history of the organization.......???

Welcome to the Bucs board.

So your take is the guy that has thrown for 3 straight 400 yard games, is 4-2 in his starts, already beat NO on the road and the world champs this year is to blame.....

The last ranked defense the last 2 seasons is the hero?

Lol. This would be comical if not so pathetic.

We're a play away from 3-0 when most thought we wouldn't win a single one of these three.

This is why NFL goobers make the back-up QB the most popular guy on the team.

If current QB does not play perfect the other guy would have done better.....

In our case a kid with an 18-27 record, turn over machine that can't throw the deep ball but we hope will develop after another 40 starts or so.

The town should give the Uber driver a giant sized card we all sign in thanks for us not being 0-3 right now.

We move on.

Who starts for the Bucs this Sunday.

CSG stated it would be Winston via a "guarantee".

I really hope "Are they going to warm up Jameis?" doesn't become a talking point today every time Fitz misses a pass.

You don’t get it. That’s EXACTLY what will happen as long as Koetter continues to play “Clue” with the QB position. He has committed to Fitz. Hasn’t committed to Winston. He’s clearly afraid of the ramifications of committing to either guy and that is what will always keep him back as a head coach. Can’t make sound decisions and do what is best for the team.

I agree with you.

That's why I'm hoping if Fitz beats the Bears today, he declares him the starter for the rest of the season and gives him all the #1 reps. So we don't have to deal with the waffling and questions.

I know it won't happen, because as you so astutely pointed out, Dirk is probably a coward. Jameis has the contract and the big arm and the draft status. Not too many coaches would have the grapes to make that call, Dirk the least of them.
