Good thing he tripped up at the end or he would've missed another one.

Here are the guys drafted ahead of Donovan Smith that played Offensive Tackle in college

5th Overall: Brandon Scherff - plays RG for the Redskins and is a pro bowl player
9th Overall: Erik Flowers - Bust
13th Overall: Andrus Peat - plays LG for the Saints. Starter quality
21st Overall: Cedric Ogbuehi - Backup RT to Bobby Hart for the Bengals
24th Overall: D. J. Humphries - struggling starting LT for the Cards

Donovan Smith was drafted 34th overall. We also drafted Ali Marpet 61st overall later in that same 2nd round.

No doubt we should be pleased with both of those picks.

I recall a number of people who wanted us to trade down and draft Oline. I wonder who in that group people wanted to take....

In a real world situation if Flowers falls that far I could see us attempt a trade up to grab Flowers. Word was that the team is high on him and given our situation it certainly would make sense.

I liked Harris in the preseason.

Bucs cut DE Will Clarke to make room for Harris. Somewhat interesting they didn't cut Spence considering Clarke was higher on the depth chart based on being active more games and getting more snaps than Spence.

But I guess there is no cap penalty with releasing Clarke as opposed to the minor dead cap hit with Spence since he was a 2nd round pick still on his rookie deal.

You could say this is Clarke's VI time being involved in a roster turnover.

Kwon days could be numbered here

The #Bucs still are in talks with Kwon's agent Drew Rosenhaus. But if he expects a top of the market deal, it's not happening in TB. Lot of concerns. How does a MLB have two total tackles in 71 defensive snaps at Chicago? His play is inconsistent.

Yep ....

I have this growing intuition that the #Bucs will resign Donovan Smith and let Kwon walk this offseason. What’s your gut feeling?

I could see that happening. Smith is the top priority between the two, and as much as I love Kwon’s Intensity, he’s gotta be more consistent.

Really looking forward to seeing Beckwith back on the field soon (hopefully) to see what he can do.

I've said this for a while, Kendall Beckwith is arguably a better MIKE than Kwon is and could replace him there. Kwon is significantly younger than LVD but LVD is by far the better of the 2. I like Kwon's swag and passion but on the field he was at his best in 2015. At the same time, Donovan Smith has grown up before our very eyes and is playing his best football. That's impressive for a player many wanted to move inside. Lock him up long term along with Ali and forget about being worried on the left side of the line.

My issue with Kwon is consistency. Still way too many bad plays/games. If you want a top market contract you need to be a consistent player. Kwon looks like an All-Pro one series and confused overzealous rookie the next.

I love everything else about his game and what he brings to the defense and lockeroom. But if we're going to make him a top paid LB he needs to be more consistent.

Couldn't agree more with you here...our LBs are horrible, HORRIBLE in coverage...and that includes LVD...

Kwon is more “passionate athlete” than “skilled player”. There hasn’t been any growth in the mental aspect of his game. Sad!

A couple weeks ago against Philly, he looked like one of the great young middle linebackers in football. If all his tape looked like that, he'd be getting paid like one. Against the Bears, he looked like Jamie Duncan's learning challenged little cousin, Pee Wee Duncan. Based on that tape, he should be running around a field in Toronto.

So...yeah...I don't know how this turns out. But I imagine that Winston's issues notwithstanding, he's probably Licht's 4th priority of the 2015 class.

The Bucs like to have a large number of players work out during the bye week and typically a quarterback is among them to help throw to the receivers and running backs.

The Bucs tryout players reported to the NFL Wednesday included Lynch, linebackers Zaire Anderson, Terence Garvin; safeties Marcelis Branch, Isaiah Johnson; wide receivers Reggie Davis, DeAngelo Yancey; tackle Rick Leonard; defensive tackle Jamie Meder and running backs Troymaine Pope and Charcandrick West.

Teams typically conduct workouts throughout the year at all positions and kick the tires on players in case of injury.

Cool, I thought maybe they would look at very lucrative offers.
