He needs 3200 yards to pass Vinny Testaverde. I'd guess Week 14 at home against the Saints.

Wow
And all this before his rook contract (and option too) is up.

That says it all.
Doesn't it?

No disrespect to JW, but it's kind of remarkable our franchise has been around for 42 years and it's going to take Jameis less than 5 to set all our franchise passing records. You' think somewhere in those four decades we would have stumbled upon a guy who could put up numbers for a decade or so. There are probably 15-20 such quarterbacks in the league at any given moment who fit that description.

Lol. Contract year? Oh yessiree...... He’ll hit the long ball, run for firsts on 3rd and 19, avoid sacks and int’s and generally error free ball ( I miss that goal line gif). He is going to have THAT YEAR ...and get THAT CONTRACT. Grab your Coronas, limes,Crown shots,Pop Tarts,Oyster shooters,Hog lumps—-whatever—- sit back, stat-track and be A-M-A-Z-E-D. Contract year greatness happens to everyone. Go Bucs!

Agreed although Steve Young or Doug Williams should have been mainstays and harder to eclipse.

I couldn't resist, so here's a fun list. Some of the quarterbacks who'd be the all-time leading passer for the Bucs:

Mark Sanchez
Blake Bortles
Jason Campbell
Neil O' Donnell
Jim Harbaugh
Ryan Tannehill
Brian Griese
Scott Mitchell
Josh McCown
Kyle Orton
Jay Schroeder

There are 25 active quarterbacks who would be the Buccaneers all time passing leader if they'd played their entire career with the Buccaneers.

It's tough to be that bad at something so fundamental for so long.

How they managed to win a SB is simply amazing when you really think about it.

If we're simply going to use career passing numbers, not one of them would be ahead of Testaverde anyway.

Exactly.

As much as I appreciate the "oomf" factor seeing that list has, it's not really an accurate representation of anything considering the number of teams each of those QBs compiled those stats on.

Edit: of that list only Bortles and Tannehill would be the franchise leaders based on their yardage for one team. That's still pretty ***damn sad.

Another name that is missing is Kirk Cousins.

Josh Freeman had the best statistical season of any Buccaneers quarterback pre-Jameis. That alone should loudly scream how pathetic our QB situation has been historically. Of course that was before I introduced him to the Devil's Lettuce and started his downward spiral.

I'm just trying to get mdb to accuse me of being a drug dealer again. That was entertaining.

Honestly though, that's not a bad idea.

You're welcome. Just give me credit from time to time.

PS I'll accept paypal whenever you want to help replace my son's creamsicle jersey... only fair since you helped ****ing tarnish it.

One of my best friends bought me a Freeman creamsicle jersey the August before he got cut. That **** was only relevant for like two god damn months and he sucked the whole time!

I ended up giving it to one of my other childhood friends who at least has the last name Freeman.

When was this one??

Shortly after Freeman skipped the team photo and got cut.

Outie told the story of the weed and witnessing him do a bump of coke IIRC and mdb personally blamed Outie for ruining his career.

Many laughs were had.

It was pretty good. To re-hash the story, Josh's sister Ashley went to UT at the time and was a friend of one of my best friend's girlfriend. So through her we meet Josh. He was a really cool guy, pretty nice. He could be kind of a **** sometimes but I always passed that off as him being a ~23 y/o multi-millionaire. I know the type, so you learn how to deal with those guys. Long story short, I've always been a huge pot head and he and I ended up smoking a few times together and I hooked him up with weed maybe twice during his career.

However, I would semi-occasionally hang out at his place in South Tampa up until about 8 or 9 months before he got cut. He went from smoking a little and dabbling in blow as the wealthy young crowd will do, but it grabbed a hold on him. By the time I stopped hanging around there he was so fucked up all the time it was uncomfortable.

So that story got conflated to me being Josh Freeman's drug dealer which I feel would have probably been more lucrative than any job I've ever had.

Josh actually reminded me a little of a young Steve De Berg in his attitude and personality. I knew De Berg through one of my dad's friends when I was growing up and that guy was always pseudo-cool but also a major ****. Got to watch him and Rodney Marsh (of Rowdies fame) throw each other in a pool once.
