Licht loves scouting division 2 and 3 for the offensive line. No complaint though.

Mayock says he projects inside and looks to be a straight mauler. I like it.

Pro comparison is David Bakhtiari. I’ll take that

They had him listed as a tackle, but his arm length is terrible for a tackle. But for a guard, he's awesome. Very high agility for a guy his weight. Plays physical. This could be another great mid round OL pick.

Not sure where he ends up, but I think he ends up starting somewhere if not next year, in a year or two.

He'll be replacing sweezy, it just depends on when.

Wisdom. I'd assume sooner rather than later. Sweezy is the simplest way for our team to get cap relief in the near future. We are very very close to the cap limit already. He's a cut man walking.

Unless his injury is worse than feared, I don't see it. Not all draft picks need to start as rookies. I think Cappa is groomed to start, but I don't see it this year- but we will see.

Yeah, unless Sweezy is just completely outplayed by Cappa, I doubt he will be cut until next year.

My wife looked at his pic on the NFL scouting report and asked if we saw him on GoT. Gotta be a plus

Obviously replacing Sweezy (or even Dotson) is the long game here but for now I'll just wait and see how the kid does. Don't forget half or more of our draft class will likely be trash.

Ideally, he sits and learns as a swing player for a year before taking Sweezy's job in 2019.

He got that WWE look down...looks dominant at Div-II ... but can he play against the big boys???

I doubt it as a rookie but I think he’s got the swagger to develop into a dependable lineman. I like the pick!

I love this description from CBSSports

Alex Cappa, who looks like he might go on tour with Widespread Panic in his spare time, was described by Mike Mayock as a bouncer -- tossing people out of the club and whatnot -- on the NFL Network broadcast. We went from shots of Cappa looking like a hippie from Humbolt to him rag-dolling Division II kids.

Any word from the FO in what the plan with him is yet?

Guard, but he'll have to cross train since he'll be a back-up initially.

Benenoch, Cappa, and Evan Smith are the projected top 3 back-ups imo.

I read somewhere that they will train him to play all 5 Oline positions.

I like the idea, make him versatile depth while hoping he can find a way to beat out J.R. Sweezy for a starting job in the next two years.

Yeah, same. This was a great pick that I'm pretty excited about
