I was watching the NFL.com stream and they liked this pick and that pick, etc. When we picked Jones, they mentioned him as a ROY candidate and a top 50 fantasy player this year.

Seemed like unusually high praise.

It is considering he'll likely be a change of pace back.

I would have taken Jackson at this position, this draft is loaded still. It was a need, we will see

I feel like Jones would have been there at our 3rd round 2 pick.

Wait, you mean 2nd round pick 2?(we dont have a 3rd)....Maybe...
Some had him mocked in the 1st. If we liked him that much, why not take him?

He has a nice cut and burst. He could be dangerous in play action.

I'm excited about Jones, definitely brings some juice to our backfield. Would much rather have gone Jackson and then Guice, but it is what it is. I think Guice must have some character issues, and Jones does seem the better fit beside Barber.

I was not a fan of Jones and I like him even less now that I see how often he's going to inspire people to use the wrong compliment/complement.

I was a big Guice fan. I think we went the wrong way here. With that said Jones has a lot to like about him, particularly in a DK system.

I think we took Jones over Guice because we preferred his character and fit. We'll see if it was the right choice.

The more I watch Jones, the more I like him. He plays faster than he times and he runs more powerfully than his frame would make you think. He follows the playcall, follows his blockers, and he isn't afraid to bang it inside. He's a gutsy little speedster, that's for sure. I would feel alright if he got the lion's share of carries this year. Hell, he could be the best guy in our draft class.

He's not quite as fast as Jaamal Charles, but that's who he reminds me of.

The last legit Bucs running back who was fast enough to erase a good angle with speed was...maybe Warrick Dunn circa the Clinton Administration. Jones can do that.

I was screaming for Guice, but I understand why we went with Jones. Also, this explains the Sims re-signing. Jones isn't that third down guy at this point. I expect we'll see all three of them getting touches next year.

Guice smoking himself out of the league in 3 years wouldn't bite us at all.

I'm spending a 2nd rounder on a guy who has talent AND character.

You can't fault the FO for taking the guy they took over Guice.

I didn't look into Jones that closely before we took him. Watching some vs videos and one thing that stands out is that he gets goal line/short yardage carries in spite of his somewhat smaller build and is fairly successful. In the Ohio State game, he did a lot of good work between the tackles.

Jones is an explosive RB and a good compliment to Peyton Barber. I like the pick.

I like this pick. We saw how much a change of pace speed back helped New Orleans. He should be fun to watch!

If half of the stuff they're saying about Guice is true, then no, you can't knock any team for passing on him, especially in a RB rich draft. I hope he gets it together, though, because I think he's a special talent.

But, it's neither here nor there. RJII is our guy.

Yeah, he's a leaner Warrick Dunn. Can carry the rock inside but is going to make the pro bowl catching from the flat.

Put him in space and he's dangerous.

Here's my breakdown of Jones

STRENGTHS
-Tremendous athlete who is a nightmare for defences in the open field, and a threat to score every time he carries the ball
-Breaks more tackles than you'd think for his size
-Upside as a receiver who's shown good hands in limited snaps, and the ability to be dynamic after the catch
-Good, smart kid who's clean off the field and will work to improve (watch his interviews)

WEAKNESSES
-Upright runner
-Light at about 205lbs
-Wasn't used much as a receiver
-Feast or famine player who gets locked down
-Not a short yardage guy
-Not a guy you want carrying the ball 25+ times

I am excited to see the speed element he will bring to the backfield. Hoping Jensen, Marpet, and whoever else is upfront can create big gaps for him to run through.

His OL was pretty dogshit at USC, so he could explode now with good blocking in front of him.

Alot of people forget, but in regards to this sublime RB class, Jones was the top dog coming out of High School.

Looking at his highlights in the video above, he looks to have very good vision, balance and speed. I like and agree with the Dunn comparisons.

We needed a guy to hand off to 10-12 times a game and we got him. Tells me we like Barber a hell of a lot more than people think we do.

The upright runner critique is common among RB with elite high end speed. But Jones runs with good pad level in the hole. When these fast guys see daylight they straighten up and turn on the jets. Dickerson was like that.

Rojo is going give us an explosive player at RB that we've lacked. I'd love if was the 3rd down guy who rotates with Barber on early downs.

If we're going to start calling him rojo all I read is red in Spanish.

I'm not going to pretend like I was on his wagon predraft, I wasn't. I wonder if Chubb would've been the pick if he was there. None the less I'm excited. He's totally a DK style RB. Remember MJD won the rushing title under DK.

When the big plus for your RB is break away speed you know its a horrible pick.

Undersized, soft, below average hands, going to be NFL fumble probe, and cant pick up the blitz.....

But gee Mr McIrish those 3 plays a year his speed ensures its a 90 yard TD rather than 1st and goal at the 2 yard line makes this a steal!!

I just pray we can get a QB with break away speed next!!

Sigh. We move on.
